There are many level C players who deliberately leave their level at level C.
When he meets a weak opponent, he will deliberately lose the game and lose his points.
When he meets a strong opponent, his team will not be very fragile (because it has a good balance)
Here comes the problem
S C D vs A C C(S) ============== who win ????????????????????
|
The loopholes in this rule doomed many S-level players to be unable to find their own (fun) balance here
Guess what he would do?
He will create a new account,
Deliberately keep he grade at C,
Because he is already familiar with (the rules)
|
my game feeling
always 1v3
always S D D vs B B B
APM ===== 250 80 80 VS 200 200 200 =====
im S rank
i dont know what i can do
someone give me C rank ACC
i want be C rank !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I don't care about MMR points
I got 4029 points at most,
But then because of the bad balance, Reduced my score to 3600
there have too many B B B vs S D D

The bghmmrbot project is nice, but it's not really a mature ladder. Since normal white, as many players have already noticed before, is not really balaced. If you look at other ladder rankings, there will never be an s player with f or e players in a team because the skill is too different. It makes no sense if a gamer with a low ranking has a winration of 53%, for example. The S player will lose and on top of that it will be a very exhausting game and he lost too many points, so many S gamers then dodge such games and see that they have reasonably logical allys where they can also win. That's why gaming only do 1 or 2 games a month to just keep your rank. Understandable. It also makes no sense for me to consider the APM. There are a few other bugs that can be exploited, but abuse can end up happening in almost every ladder. But in the end it's still a nice thing because it supports the BGH scene. So I say thank you again.

I think that for as long as teams are composed from the six players that happened to join a particular lobby, rather than from a bigger pool of players, the experience of the highest ranked / most skilled / most competitive players will always be suboptimal in ways such as those discussed above, and compared to custom games, and compared to other ladders like iccup, where you would usually enjoy increasingly better allies as your own skill and rating increased, rather than the opposite - which is what's happening here. But there's not a lot the developer can do about this obviously.
The best solution is probably found on the individual level: treat these games as a way to find fun and reasonably balanced team games, rather than as a super-competitive ladder experience. Don't play with 110 % effort to try to win "impossible" games if this leaves you frustrated when you don't. Don't expect or try to force your allies to play at a level way beyond their skillset, or blame them if they won't. I try to engage in a little bit of friendly team talk, like "hey guys" "let's kill these noobs", and I will tell my team at the start of the game what I will do, and sometimes suggest that a team mate will do such and such, like "maybe you can ...". If they won't, fine, let them do whatever they want, even if you know this will most likely result in a loss.

I saw the administrator modify the server settings a few hours ago
S A B C grade servers
In just a few rounds, I sincerely hope to manage and issue a server that only provides SAB level
Other servers do not allow SAB level players to enter!
I hope this server is permanent, not transient.
There are so many players of C, D, E and F levels, and there are not so many vacancies on the server, so I hope to have a permanent b+ server!

Please ban this "COVID19" ID. He quitted in the early game for no reason. I am a A/B rank player and just registered this account to report this player. As our team(the other teammate and me were all trying to help him to push the opponent right next to him, he made no units but sunkens in base and then quit(got 0 units killed for the whole game). (If he is new, it is okay that he did not know how to add pressure to opponent but doing nothing and quit is another thing, basically just wasting the teammates' time). I am not saying we would win if he stayed but at least those two or three sunkens with drones were worth about 6 or more zealot/and time which is a lot in early game. Quitting at 5 minutes mark with no reason put the teammate in a very bad situation. https://repmastered.app/game/tBSNX0GC8A4bE8FeEf2WpYuJYx4aGwzGOI4pw4Poegw
If there are too many players like him, lots of real players would quit. Thank you!

There is also an interesting player oO_Oo. He got from 2800 points to 700 points in one day and loss about 20 games in a row on that day (June7). Today (June 8), he became an E rank player. In last of his 10 games as of now, he was always "accidentally" in the same game with a S player "Ckpistc". In those 10 games, they are in the same team for 8 rounds and got 7 wins with 1 loss. In the other 2 games which they are in different teams, guess what, he “naturally” lost so the S player would gain points in almost every games. How do I know? I was in one of those two games and found oO_Oo using his 180~200apm only making sunkens in his base from the start of the game for unknown reason (not even one ling as a zerg player). https://repmastered.app/game/tpzEg49hfFIHnUUcQIQx6SrfHyBvzhVAfW21lOAYapo
Attacking teammates will be banned but grouping to protect some specific players seems okay??~
*After reading this post, they might think to change the pattern a little bit but these straight games would already have records on the server.

My 2 cents. There are different type of games -- 1) all players are of the approximately same rank (this is the ideal matchup); 2) there are players of each rank in each of teams, for example ADF vs ADF or BDD vs BDD etc. (this is quite ok too); 3) there are rank inbalances in teams like SCC vs ABC or SCF vs BCC etc. Although the formula gives balanced outcome int the third case, it might require the whole different set of skills and strategies to play these games for higher ranked players and usually it's quite frustrating. You might be playing games of the third type as an A player, but you might perform as B in games of the first type for instance (added: also it's quite race dependent! it's hard to impossible to play type 3 games as a zerg for the "team-leader", that's why we almost don't see zerg players in S and few in A). Many players want to play more games of the type 1 (no matter if those are S who don't want to play with C or C players who don't want to play with F).
Why don't we make more SAB, ABC, BCD, CDE, DEF games hosted as an experiment?
Note: Intersections between groups are important, because we want good shuffle and smooth transition from one rank to another. If only SAB and CDEF games are hosted then the jump from C to B might become quite steep.

The population of strategies will divide into >=B and <=C players that is not good, otherwise I agree:
S A B
A B C D [ A B C or B C D or something similar required for good shuffle and transition from C to B]
C D E

i think
S A B room will be better
I believe that many players of s a B level want to have a server of B level!
|
right now
Two servers are idle [ C D E ]
People still like to fight against the high level!

Well, I understand that everyone would like to have a server for their class only, but: 1 there is a limit to number of bots 2 the more selective the lobby is, the longer the wait for game
Those are the reasons I avoided extended use of restricted lobbies in the past. For now, we have 2 groups: lower 60% and upper 60% of players (SABC and CDEF). Only when this system works well and players learn to join correct lobby, I will think about dividing the league into 3 groups.

This tool is very good
Can I buy it?
I want to introduce this tool to China's BGH ranking

Those CDE games are much more balanced and fun.

Thanks for hosting CDE games again! They feel like you win/loose more due to your own skill than overall luck.
