近年稀に見るエマージェンシー
相当ショックです。
何かの間違いであってほしい
何のことかは、ここでは書きませんが

I'm really hoping, praying that it's some kind of mistake
Not going to write here what it's about but...
Seriously, that's going too far man
I really do understand their feelings but...
There's still time
There should still be things that can be done

But seriously, this is making me worried, even though I don't know what I'm worrying about... o_O
Edit: hey Haji, can you confirm what people on SRK are saying about this website?
http://www.famitsu.com/tougeki08final/
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=162056
“Last year, we managed to get up an experimental live stream, but this year there are no plans for an identical live stream.
“However, there are plans to continue prompt reporting and quick dissemination of the things that go on at the fighting game tournament that is Tōgeki.
“For that reason, other than the reporting from Arcadia Mobile, there are plans for a news program concerning Tōgeki to be distributed on the Internet. This is very different from last year’s live stream; the many matches will not be something we could say to be relayed in a real-time fashion. Till the very end, for the three days of 15–17 August, there will be a program that keeps pace with Tōgeki ’08 Final at Differ Ariake Arena; there are plans to do a live broadcast from the grounds, but we not be showing you the matches that do not mean very much.”
...
The rest is three paragraphs saying “NO LIVE STREAM. COME HERE; IT’S AWESOME IN PERSON.”
So to sum it up: no live stream. Just some special “programs” for the finals. The schedule for those will be up on the 12th (so basically later today if you live in the U.S.). (emphasis added)
In particular, can you check the translation of the bolded part? Because the way this guy phrased it, it sounds like they'll be broadcasting the important matches (i.e. the finals). o_O
|
to me that sounds more like they're going to do live announcing of the semi finals and finals, but only audio rather than high quality video

I love ARG's claw
edit: WTF why did Kurahashi use Ryu
edit 2: apparently MOV won't be playing since his hand is broken, lol. Would be funny if Kuroda and Ino win by themselves.

According to this post, MOV'S HAND IS BROKEN! SO KURODA AND INO ARE PLAYING ON A 2-MAN TEAM NOW! OH SNAP!
The best team in the tournament just got neutered. Despite that, imo they're still one of the best teams. Kuroda and Ino are both good enough to OCV most of the teams, imo. But with only 2 players, against the stronger teams (especially RX/KO/Nuki) they'll have to play solid as heck to avoid losing due to bad luck. And Gouki and Makoto aren't exactly known for being solid characters...

2 man team wins the 3 man team tourneyyyyyyyy
|
holy fuck, that sucks for them big time haji is probably happy i wonder which hand he broke...he could still try to muscle through it i would if i were him, might as well try at least he already has an SBO win though, unlike kuroda

You can't exactly "muscle through it" since your muscles are attached to your bones and they exert force directly onto your bones.

depends on which hand it is if it's his left hand i think he could prolly finagle some way to grip the joystick by wrapping it to his hand or something like that if he has a good cast it'll still be pretty stable and it may not hurt too much I'm just saying that it's possible
