"Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored."
Wasnt what I would have expected, but interested anyway.

Survival horror? So are we going to play as Blizzard employees?

The final boss will be in the cosby room.

Man, Blizzard is so creatively bankrupt right now... They went from genre-defining studio to "let's release the latest fad but a few years too late so it's already waning". And then they're surprised they're not doing so hot.
Also, with the influx of some of the Asian quality games their life has become even harder now - FF XIV stealing a lot of playerbase from WoW and now Lost Ark is coming to the west and it makes pretty much all of D4 footage look pretty poor in comparison (and it's a game that's a few years old so it shouldn't have any reason to look so much better than Blizzard's latest endavour).

I get that they have different teams but with the way all their current IPs and teams are doing (massively behind schedule, maintenance mode with no staff etc.) feels very poorly timed to make this announcement. At a minimum should have come after the big update they've been boasting about past couple weeks that is 'coming soon'

Im curious, I hope to fucking christ in heaven its not an Ubisoft Brand™ Open World game, but I've never played a Blizzard game that I didnt overall like, from Diablo 3 to WoW's darkest expacs.
Im keeping an open mind, the art looks good, their last new IP is one of my absolute favorite worlds around, this team is said to have a really, really healthy culture in contrast so how fuck-awful the B.net team seems to have been. The ingredients are there, in my opinion.

Thats all well and good but I have a couple of questions: 1) When will this release? 5 yrs+ from now? If so, what the FUCK is the point in announcing this now? Over the last couple of years after leaving SC2 and broadening my horizons I have come to really appreciate companies that announce a new game AND RELEASE IT within 6 to 12 months of that announcement. 2) Will the company even last that long? I can't imagine new developers wanting to work in that hellhole until Microsoft actually takes over and Kotick is expunged from any decision making. Having "Blizzard" on a resume isn't the badge of honor it used to be. 3) Who with talent & vision is still left at this company to make this? 4) Will people want to play this? A LOT of personalities both on twitch and YT pretty much abandoned Blizzard & their games and have said they are never coming back after the leaks. That's a lot of goodwill & free marketing down the drain. I personally don't see myself ever playing another Blizzard game in the foreseeable future...

"Blizzard is creatively bancrupt, better player the 1000th korean diablo clone! JUST LOOK AT THE GRAPHICS! Wait a second, that class looks like the Diablo 3 Monk. Just looking at the Final Fantasy 14/Lost Ark Twtich is nasty. Bloated with pink, VR Anime, K-Pop dancing, My God Glad that they took this playerbase Meanwhile Fortnite, League of Legends, Valorant...
I hope Blizzard stays as "creatively bankrupt" as they are. Just like they always been: Warcraft 1 was Dune 2/Warhammer ripoff, Starcraft was "Warcraft in Space".
You guys can stay "Creative" on Among Us. Fine with me

Call of Duty: Warzone: 84K viewers World of Warcraft: 46.1K viewers Hearthstone: 44.6K viewers Overwatch: 17.3K viewers Final Fantasy XIV Online: 7.5K viewers (What happend?)
They do perfectly fine

I don't think horror is implied.

Well somebody really likes Blizzard…
Iirc this was more a call to get in industry talent to make it than an announcement for us consumers, so it makes sense it’s rather vague
