GG = good game, no special significance ww = good game also; It's just a result of how koreans type it ( https://tl.net/forum/starcraft-2/163692-the-ww-mystery ) ㅎㅎ = ha ha

ㅎㅎ is also gg, they are all gg. "ㅎ" is g on the keyboard, so when they are not in hangeul mode, it comes out as ㅎ instead. BUT yes, it can mean "ha ha" but in the context of the end of a game of starcraft this is definitely, unpurposely, "gg". ww because in hangeul the "g" sound would be akin to "ㅈ" hence ㅈㅈ and on the keyboard alphabet mode, that is the letter "w". Google "korean keyboard" and check the pictures and look at g and w.

i see so many games where folks type in hangul first and correct it. ww seems kinda careless. maybe it's by accident, but seems when frustration kicks in they don't take the time to correct it. just saw a lot of games with "ww" and "ㅎㅎ" at the end where people just played really bad. also GG often when other player dominated or did a good move. dont know if there's a connection.

ww = ㅈㅈ which means gg as well. gg = ㅎㅎ which is just typing gg with KR keyboard on, I wouldn't over think this much.

Either to be respectful or because they believe that you may not be able to see hangul. ww seems kinda careless. maybe it's by accident, but seems when frustration kicks in they don't take the time to correct it. just saw a lot of games with "ww" and "ㅎㅎ" at the end where people just played really bad. As explained multiple times, that is the correct letter on the keyboard for "gg" in hangul. also GG often when other player dominated or did a good move. dont know if there's a connection. Strongly doubt that there is a connection; I almost always do GG regardless of win or loss simply because I am used to typing that way. I am confident that it's mostly idiosyncratic. Maybe if they talk shit in caps lock before/afterward, that might explain it in some cases, but I believe that is rare.

So for the longest time I typed and saw GG since we were all in caps lock anyway

Just FYI Another possible explanation is that in TvB games, you need to do shift+enter to send a message to all (as opposed to AC), so in that game mode maybe people just keep holding shift as they send the GG message.

When they are about to tap out, they often correct the Kor/Eng-switch and type what they want. That's why I was wondering, if it's connected to some "manner rules". I know that at least in Korea and pro-sports in general there are more formal rules of showing respect and appreciation after a match. Has a Korean player or someone from that scene confirmed yet that there's no difference? Just asking.
