Hi everyone,
As some of you may already know from reading my blog over the years, I've been slowly catching up on old BW tournaments, OSLs/MSLs, that I missed during BW's glory days, and documenting my thoughts about these tournaments there: example.
I decided to start watching GomTV MSL S4 recently, and figured it might be fun to cast these older games with an inquisitive mind, so I decided to call this series, "Let's Watch Starcraft!". If you are a new player/viewer who would love to watch older games with an English caster and see what the older meta was like, or you are an old-timer who would love to see these old games with a fresh pair of eyes and for some nostalgia too, feel free to check out my casts on my youtube channel.
I am still working on standardizing everything to my liking. Having said that, the first four groups of the Ro32 have been casted and uploaded. I have also made sure to avoid spoilers for anyone who wants to take the plunge and watch this tournament from start to finish. The current plan is to cast 1-2 groups a week and adjust this based on time.
Here are a couple of great games, one from each group, that some folks may like: Group A: Sea vs ZerO on Blue Storm: Group B: Bisu vs Jaedong on Blue Storm: Group C: Losers' Match on Katrina: Group D: Jangbi vs XellOs on Zodiac:
If there is enough interest, I can update this thread once a round is fully casted, so folks are aware of it.
Thank you guys for your support!

Great initiative and good work BigFan! I think the GOMTV MSL S4 was what was on when I first started watching BW after learning about the pro-scene, it was definitely 2007 anyway.
I'll aim to listen to some of these soon (and can give some feedback if you like). Most of my watching these days is in the middle of the night without audio though!

This is such a good idea. Compared to some of the grizzled veterans of the BW community, I'm still pretty new so it's cool seeing a fresh perspective on games from the glory days. Oh and the casting is great, keep it up

Watch them as you wish The idea is that this is another method of vod preservation if the channel hosting the original vods goes down.

Thank you and yes, I plan to eventually cast these too. I mostly choose 2007 as the starting point because the gameplay was a bit closer to what we see nowadays compared to the earlier days where things were more of a free for all (to some degree).

Small update for those who are following this series: - Groups A to F have been casted and uploaded. - Groups G and H will hopefully be up in the next week or so.
Recommendations: Group A - If you are a fan of TvZ, then this is a group that should be watched in its entirety. The games were all a joy to watch, and the level of play was pretty high overall. Group B - First match of Bisu vs Jaedong was great, and the losers' match was also interesting. Group C - First match of Savior vs Ruby, and the finals' match are both great (losers' is not bad either so another option). Group D - First match of Jangbi vs Xellos and second match of FBH vs Hwasin were pretty enjoyable. This group had some TvTs, but imo, if you don't mind, this was a fun group overall. Group E - Second match of ForGG vs Luxury, and the losers' match were good. Other matches weren't bad either, but it depends on how much you love TvTs. Group F - This group had Nal_ra, GoRush and Light so lots of back and forth games between the different races. Would highly recommend the whole group if you are able since these games were pretty high level and really interesting. At minimum, you should watch first match of Nal_ra vs Shine, second match of Light vs GoRush, and finals' match imo.

Last 2 groups of the Ro32 are casted and can be found here.
Recommendations: Group G - this group has flash and iloveoov so you know you are in for some good games! Group H - Match 2 - SangHo vs Canata on Katrina, losers' match and finals' match too.
