to play D2 for a year and get the full experience with every ride in their "MMO theme park" you pay $125 CDN or $100 USD. Done Deal.
The whining in the vid below does not represent the millions of quiet happy people playing the game. YongYea acting like he has the "pulse on the community heartbeat" is off base. In this topic, the guy is clueless.
I've heard from multiple youtubers that "horrible news" type vids get ~30 times as many views as "middle of the road happy" report videos. These negative news youtubers are merely chasing the clicks/views from people who hunger for angry, moralistic, doom sayer type coverage.
Hey, I'll give "Angry Joe" some credit. At least, he is fully transparent with his over-the-top, screaming, ranty schtick. This YongYea guy trying to come off as some kind of intellectual visionary ... just doesn't add up.
I agree with the Forbes guy who has stated that the value prop for the seasonal content is under priced. My biggest problem with D2 is that I just don't have the time available to remain 100% on top of each season. I'm kinda happy we're at a "dead spot" in content.
The games' player base is growing and Bungie's support for future content is also growing by leaps and bounds. Also, the price of the game is rising. meh. These people who thought Destiny2 would become perfect after Bungie split from ATVI are experiencing an awakening does of reality I guess.
I think there is merit to the criticism. I dont have problems with the pricing part of the business but the way the pricing is done, its super confusing to get new ppl into the game.
Bizarre that Bungie offers a launch day option that is substantially below MSRP. This is an oversight ATVI would never make. LOL. Hey man, I'll take it!
The Campaign is awesome. Highly recommended. Sad to see the Tangled Shore area and the Forsaken story campaign disappear. Over all, great stuff. Who cares if Destiny requires 10 hours per week to keep up....I'll sleep when I'm dead.

This is a good point and I think Bungie attempted to address this by creating an edition that gives you all four seasons for the year. The Deluxe Edition sets you up for the year. Any new player now has three distinct options. Basic , Deluxe , Deluxe + 30th anniversary.
I think its still too complicated for new players though.
Yongyea's base facts are correct. Yongyea is correct in his comment that Bungie has employed "every microtransation type under the sun". Yongyea is also correct that the Steam price per year to play the game has risen substantially. Even in this area though, under ATVI they never had launch day discounts like they do under Bungie. For careful shoppers this means the price increase is quite small.
The #s indicate Yongyea's characterization of these issues as an "unacceptable actions by the vocal majority" is off base. D2 peaked at 289,000 in the past day. D2's all time high is 292,000.
But yeah, the way they call the mini content "seasons" makes it way more easy to compute. I think its probably still very confusing if you're a f2p player.
I'm only a couple missions in, Im probably going to grind some light levels in crucible later tonight. I love what i see so far.
The weird moth things spawning above hive is actually a really interesting small thing that switches gameplay up.
I haven't encountered many but i think hive guardians have a lot of potential gameplay wise in strikes/missions so i hope they were creative with that.

That's good to hear. I had a lot of fun with the Campaign last time I played. But I think I only got till Titan and my last save doesn't exist in the game anymore :-/
gonna play again when the entirety of the campaing is accessible again. (or if idk.)

Yeah that’s one thing I hate about destiny is the way it’s designed, it feels very cold and isolated if you’re not in discord. I wish I could have fun and be social in crucible like I can be in valor and or cs go
