Why have we not seen more usage of the Foot in Professional Starcraft?
I personally have installed a 2nd Keyboard that I have under my desk and have been practicing using my toes to just press certain hotkeys in order to gain an advantage of using an additional appendage. + Show Spoiler +
I first got the Idea from an episode of the Office: + Show Spoiler +
As you can see he proposes the Idea of just 20 minutes a day of using your foot will get you more dexterity in order to use the foot like a hand. A Brilliant Idea I thought! But when searching for Professional gamers using their feet in a match there is only one example:
As you can see a FUTURE ASL CHAMPION Pioneered using the foot to play Starcraft Professionally. The SAME MAN Who uses a Hairdryer in his gameplay. Clearly the man has thought outside the box to deliver the future of RTS E-sports.
I'm Curious has anyone else looked into using their feet to play the game? I find it easiest to hit the Ctrl Key or Spacebar keys as they are the keys with the easiest to access surface area.
I wonder if anyone knows if maybe Serral, Maru, or Reynor have tried playing the game using their feet? It would unlock even more APM Potential. I have noticed at least a 20 APM Increase over the past month of gaming with my feet and use the spacebar as my Idle worker key and having my Toe always on it has been nice.

This thread, sadly, falls well short of those standards.
I legitimately have been practicing playing this way, and am looking to see if this can be a new standard. People probably laughed when Flash was using his ruler early too, but who is laughing now?
Awesome idea, but a keyboard is the wrong way to go. You need to wire up a set of pedals from an organ and use that - they're made for the unique dextrosityness characteristics of the human footal appendage.
I actually spent a lot of time trying to optimize hotkeys usage and considering if foot usage is the way to go. My most interesting idea was to control the camera with pedals, one foot controls up-down and the other left-right. I think there are niche situations where it would be valuable to move the camera while maintaining control of the mouse at the same time, for example during some spread out fights that cover more than one screen. You could also set the camera movement speed to be slower than the mouse scroll speed to make smaller more precise adjustments with the feet and more quick big movements with the mouse as usual. I decided not to try it though for two reasons, I'm not sure what tournaments allow exactly (For example a pedal that has different behavior depending on how far it is pressed might not be allowed, it could be used as a mechanical macro key then where a single press does multiple things). Also you normally use the feet for stability, if the feet are not focusing on stability then the arms will lose precision or become more locked on the table and that will reduce arm movement instead :3 Maybe if you use belts to lock yourself into a stable chair...
edit: Another idea is to use it sort of as a function key that changes the behavior of the keyboard, but again I am not sure if this is allowed in tournaments
I quite like the suggestion of using foot pedals as added modifiers or for scrolling the map.
If I can play guitar semi-competently while operating pedals then surely why not make use of my feet in SC2? Of course there’s the small problem of me being unable to play SC competently at all normally, never mind implementing some foot wizardry.
Finally a use for my ancient Dunlop Cry Baby wah pedal!
I have been trying to use the last alert hotkey to see when my units are under attack or a push is coming to see the composition. It may be a good option for a single pedal to react fast to the audio que.
