Apple is clearly determined to pump up TV+ viewership now that more Ted Lasso is on the way, including on other platforms. PlayStation 5 owners now get six months of free Apple TV+ service, whether they're newcomers or existing subscribers (except for Apple One members). That's quite the lengthy trial — even Apple device buyers only receive three months before they have to start paying. There are a few catches. You'll have to redeem the offer through the PS5, and you'll have to remember to cancel if you don't want to pay $5 per month once the half-year is over. The promo is only available until July 22nd, 2022 in qualifying countries (including most of the Americas, Europe and Asia). And of course, this won't help much if you're a PS4 owner who won't (or can't) upgrade. The offer might be well-timed all the same. This will clearly help if you're eager to watch Ted Lasso's second season, but it will also make sure you can watch The Morning Show season two, Foundation and other big Apple TV+ premieres at no charge. Apple's hope, of course, is that you'll be so enamored with that content that you'll be ready to pay when that trial finally runs out.

Component shortages could keep limiting production on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch all the way through the end of next year, according to a new report. Toshiba creates power-regulating chips which are used in everything from cars to consumer electronics, and a director of the company confirmed to Bloomberg that "the supply of chips will remain very tight until at least September next year," with "some customers not being fully served until 2023." The Toshiba director, Takeshi Kamebuchi, pointed to both material shortages and high demand outpacing the company's production capabilities as reasons for the lack of chips. While companies such as Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo may be able to switch between manufacturer sources for other console components, the safety certifications required for power-regulating chips make that a more difficult proposition. "We consider which customer faces the most severe situation, such as the risk of the whole production line halting or the business getting obliterated without the supply of chips," Kamebuchi said. "Game console makers are among the customers making the strongest demands and I’m sincerely sorry for their frustration as none of them have a 100% satisfaction." Toshiba's planning to expand its production of power semiconductors in the coming years, which will hopefully cut down on the possibility of similar bottlenecks appearing in the following years. It sounds like the component shortage - and its impact on video game console production - may take a while to get back to normal. Source

Just subscribe to one of these Twitter/Telegram drop news feeds and be quick to click links and order when they message. Here in Belgium we had webshops with PS5 drops 3-4 times / week. It's all gonna be shitty bundles though, I got disk version + 2nd controller + demon souls + ratchet + spiderman for 800 euros which is a bit steep, would've bought the 2nd controller and at least 1 of those games anyway but definitely not all 3. Oh well.

Oh well. That's a damn good deal and those games are all pretty amazing. I only got Destruction All-Stars + Spider-Man +2nd Controller for 650USD. (Or was it 700USD?)
