Welcome to this patch's General Discussion thread for the League of Legends subforum. This thread is for discussion around League of Legends. Free feel to talk about anything LoL related here that does not already have its own thread.
Akshan can no longer revive teammates when he's dead
My god, Riot actually listened.
- GP buffs seem pretty good, they gutted his late game and now they are buffing it again. - Lucian changes are just a big wtf, Combined with Nami buffs, it almost feels like they want people to play the 2 champs together bot. - +3 dmg for Teemo, another troll change. - Riot buffing Xayah for Worlds, fleet footwork change could mean Cait might be viable again.
Lucian changes are puzzling, but Xayah buffs are just ????, especially when Rakan is already a very important champion in some regions. If they want to increase Xayah's win rate in solo Q, they should rework her after Worlds. I like playing her, but it's a bad time to buff her.

I did "appreciate" the way the patch notes straight-up say "don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you, fans of the off-meta lulz" in the explanation for the very entry where they arbitrarily try to shove Lucian back bot with another bolt-on nonsense mechanic because he's apparently not allowed to be in mid.
Bolt-on mechanics are such an inelegant way of fixing champs and they are so fkn hard to understand as a player without reading patch notes religiously.
My most hated bolt-on mechanic was the 90% dmg mechanic for Kalista.
The core of the League design is built on exceptions, inconsistencies and band aids. There is not a single rule that doesnt have plenty exceptions for zillions different reasons: bugs, technology is not there, we coded it wrong, forgot about the rule, its new and needs to be shiny and so on
Yeah, 150+ champions will do that. Riot tries to make every new champion unique in some way, and that usually translates to breaking fundamental aspects of the game. Once upon a time that translated to Ryze scaling with mana, Sion zombie, Neeko transform etc. Now it's stuff like Akshan revive, Sylas/Viego stealing abilities. At some point, I expect Riot to release a champion that can fully imitate another champion, with 'bolted on' mechanics to try and balance it.
New GP changes seem very wonky, he is forced to go crit, and his previous problem has resurfaced: either you hit a crit barrel and solo win the game, or you don't and feel completely useless. And his passive MS nerf is substantial, crit forces him to be a glass cannon but he doesn't have the old escape capabilities.

They should honestly just have done the Q change and maaaaaybe add an additional barrel at max rank to compensate. Aside from his braindead Q poke he was in the healthiest place he has ever been.
Graves not being allowed to lane is so silly. I hate when Riot does this kind of "this champion is only allowed as x". Think the Teemo change is a calculated last hit breakpoint.
Wit's End nerf finally hit is hilarious, ARAM players have abused the SB+Wits ADC build for months on end. Serpent's Fang is probably going to be nerfed in the future if shield champs get popular. :D
So patch 11.8 info is out, and there's a very interesting Draven change, a champ some streamers called the best 'real' ADC even before this:
Hits on enemy champions that would leave their current HP below Draven's current League of Draven stack count will execute them
That's actually a terrifying time bomb, if he farms well and comes back with a BF sword for level 6 with a 50+ dmg execute, imo he has a brutal all in. I don't think it will be too impactful in soloQ, but he might see a few bans at Worlds.
Happy with a lot of the champ nerfs, they were needed before Worlds. And no crazy champ buffs, I don't think any of them will become insta pick because of number changes.
Isn't that a Vistara or something like that? Whatever they call their non-human, non-shuriman champions now. And I guess her calling other normies is "memey" but, uh... also pretty jarring.
