E: Fumetsu no Anata is as depressing as it can be. But really, really good.

Playing through this game is giving me PTSD flashbacks. The first game was especially horrible at killing characters that I liked.

I gather that it's a rather important moment in the show.

Most stories which open with the concept of intrigue in the unfamiliar yet familar world falls apart as the intrigue and mysteries and inconsistencies build up but so far it seems very well thought out. As well as the unusual fantasy concept of the nobles without a face to be seen. It's pretty hard to talk about it without spoilering and revealing though. I got interested in it and found out that it is based on a weekly fully colourised manga. Which apparently has only two people working on it. All those anime and manga about manga artists struggling to meet deadlines from a high workload are just a gross exaggeration I guess. Or those two people are vastly more efficient.

I wonder if they planned out the whole story, including most of the details, before they started publishing.

It's relatively recent I think, like came out in the last 7 or 8 years at the most I think. It's a future Japan, but I don't think the technology is too different or anything. There are local community "heores"; they don't have powers or anything, but they wear costumes and fight bad guys. The man character's older sister is one of these heroes and if I remember correctly she has a green costume, kind of like Kermit the frog. Anyways, the main character wants to be a hero too so she goes on adventure with her friends. I can give a few more vague details, but I don't want to spoil anything someone else wants to watch this. Anyways, if anyone has an idea of what anime this is please let me know!

I always had these vague memories. It's kind of mildly bizarre, which sometimes made wonder if it was real or just some pleasant fever dream fragment.
