(in fact i don't disagree with his statement; but the way he worded it rubbed off on me very wrongly)
In principle, having cups/tournaments for tier 2 competition is a good thing. In practice, setting the ELO so that only happy is excluded is a dick move. He can word his disdain more eloquently, but Happy has never been a word smith.

Cross server play is in the best state of any RTS with the host bots w3champions made. Covid killed any hope of a true world championship. The schedule started in Anaheim at the start of 2020 and was supposed to have a finale at IEM Katowice. Katowice didn't happen and everything shifted online with each region being a walled garden. The host bots didn't exist when the schedule was planned by ESL so maybe next year?

Yeah I really hope they are going to go for the cross server play in the next season
W3Champions really is the best thing to, probably ever, happen to Warcraft III competetive play..
Is it possible to organize small, lets say unofficial, tour like "Best of the Best" with regional winners or finalists battling it out for unofficial crown of The Best?
