i've been attempting mutation solos since the mutations started over again. It's actually quite difficult.
Minor defensive benefit: Using ally Artanis' guardian shell or Karax's unity barrier Minor offensive benefit: Swann's laser (this might be quite an advantage, though) No benefit: Fenix, Ranyor, Mengsk
For Lock and Load, Cradle of Death, and Chain of Ascension, it might be easier to have the ally quit and you control both commanders (can't use ally to mine).

Sounds interesting! Do you ask your given allies to quit the game to solo the mutation?
Haha, I have only one PC, but I will try if i get a chance usually it is going fine if my ally quits at any point - i just finish the game easily unless it's brutal4/5 type mutation.
And thanks for the link, I will check out the hardest mutations we ever experienced!

actually, i found out a better way. go to the arcade and search for the map names. Check out the ones by Maguro (the titles start with MM). You can remove your ally by type -solo.
