Chinese team Brave Star Gaming, which has come second place in GTC 2020 Spring and third place in NeXT 2020 Spring, has announced the end of their organization.
Since Scarlett left the team a bit earlier already, the only two remaining players under contract were Dream and Cyan, who are now free agents. The team will still cover their salaries throughout December to give them some time for finding a new home.
With this departure, things look a bit more bleak for the future of the GTC and the combined Korean/Chinese scene.
Blizzard has been reluctant to authorize the revenue sharing of in-game products, resulting in users not being able to directly purchase in-game products to support related activities. At the same time, paid project updates are stopped, there will be no exclusive activity skins, and there will be no war chests. Organizers and teams can only seek profitability from the outside. Blizzard is slowly pushing StarCraft to extinction.

Blizzard isn't pushing it to extinction, they merely pulled the plug on it's life support. The game is no longer financially viable, and scene was being directly supported by Blizzard.
Blizzard could open source starcraft 2, since there is no interest to support the game anymore. So community would implement needed updates, fixes/patches to prolong the game's life.
So, if they do not drop the „Chinese“ rule, in order to win over some teams from countries to join, this looks really bad for the league now, doesn‘t it?

Those two events probably don't have anything in common. Being an airline, it is much more likely Jin Air just suffered heavy financial loses in the COVID-crisis, so they had to make every budget cut possible.
Most of these Chinese teams are directly sponsored by rich Chinese who has a interest in starcraft for fun and glory. Chinese economy is going shit right now, don't look at the numbers, as we all know what Chinese numbers means, kappa.
Scboy just said that another rich Chinese guy will take over BSG and already signed Cyan and Dream, and probably also Patience. They also plan to contact Team Liquid, NV, Qlash, and probably exon today to ask them if they have interesting about next season's team league.

This is a very good thing, but I also hope that everyone knows that we still need to find a way to help the team gain profits, so that is the way to solve the fundamental problem.

This rule may be cancelled next season. The original intention of this rule was to give Chinese professional players a stable working environment for the team. However, with the dissolution of many teams, what needs to be solved is to prevent the disappearance of the league. But this is not charity, the league still needs profit points, otherwise it will still disappear.

Oh wow that would be dope! How is ping from EU/ NA to Chinese servers anyway? Is it playable?
