I've been checking around the internet and these forums for the past few hours and I couldn't find anything that matched my problem so:
When I play Starcraft 2 (in game - not in the menu screen, but in the actual match), my right click and hotkeys work fine. However, my left click either lags or doesn't respond unless I click it several times. Has anyone run into this issue? My system specs are:
-AMD Turion 64 x2 -1.79 GHz rated at 2.685 GHz -1.9 GB free RAM -Windows 7 32 bit - Video Card: ATI Radeon X1200 Series
I know that it isn't the optimal setup for SC2, but I can see the map/units and movement just fine on the low settings. The only issue I have is the left click. I've attempted to change the screen resolution and utilize all the options in the graphics menu. I've also tried several different mice and they all have the same problem.

have you tried the "reduce mouse lag" option, works for me
also, try testing with a different mouse, could just be a broken/sticky mouse button

Do you get the same problem in any other games? What mouse are you using? Are you using standard windows mouse drivers or drivers that came with the mouse?
Do you have the "reduce mouse latency" option checked? If so uncheck, if not try checking it.
That's a very strange problem, especially as right click works fine.

Thanks for the feedback - I actually called Blizzard about this and they don't really know what the problem is either...

strange, indeed. answer shawabawa's questions and do what he suggested to start.

I've tried a couple different mice and I had the same problem - I'm using a logitech M-BZ96C optical mouse right now. I reset the setpoint application for it and reinstalled it, but there's no difference. I also redled any drivers to do with my video card or mouse. I've fiddled with all the settings on SC2, including that "reduce mouse latency" button, but nothing seems to work so far.
Do you guys think expanding my RAM would help out at all? The guy at Blizzard said he would send me an email if they're able to find the solution.

Mouse lag can be deal with by this (you quote) but only make it better, not fix problem.
I use to have, quite specifically, mouse lag, and it turned out to be my GeForce graphics card. Try re-installing your drivers or just make sure they are updated, could very well be it.
However, mouse lag isnt a specifically clicking problem, it was when i moved my mouse, the cursor would be delayed.

I can't think of anything that would specifically affect left mouse clicking other than a weird driver issue, but seeing as you reinstalled all drivers that seems unlikely... *maybe* it could be caused by some sort of spyware logging your mouse clicks? Try scanning for viruses/malware. Other than that I guess maybe just reinstalling windows :/
Did you try any other games? If possible try a game that uses opengl and another game that uses directx in case it's a directx issue.

could be that the mouse cable connecting to the computer is bitten, split, damaged etc.
the mouse is probably the one at fault here, but a game glitch isn't outa the question.

Hi I'm having the same issue, yes I know this is 10 years later. I've generally thought it was my mouse power, so replaced the battery. Left click doesn't work but the right click does. I have to spam it in order for the click to work. It sometimes goes away with replacing the battery, however it keeps cropping up, maybe system restarts helps too. The issue persists with different mice. I'm currently using a Logitech M720 Triathlon. Has someone discovered maybe its a delay from mouse to computer to game, and the game uploads the action without the click?

Sounds like a tragic failure to set up rapid-fire. If it's happening with different mice it certainly isn't a hardware issue.
EDIT: Weird that it should disappear and come back, too...
