Hey everyone,
Long time no see. My name is Mathieu and i'm from Montreal, Canada (but relocated to Thailand in 2010). I've been playing starcraft since November 2000 (20 years now! still can't believe it lol) and i'm starting playing Broodwar again after a 5 years hiatus.
I'm looking forward to meeting old friends and make new ones! Below is a list of some of my akas over the years. If you remember me or we used to play together let me know and send me a message! I'm looking forward again to connect with this amazing community ♥
If anyone has any ideas of where is Joekim, Lastshadow, any members of vTv, JST, X17, LighT from the past let me know :D
Aka over the years:
Teacher-X17 Get.Teacher Teacher[LighT] GiTM.Teacher vTv.marine JST-gaypride Nal_teacher
And many others that i'm probably forgetting (getting old ain't easy lol)

Hi Teacher,
We played many games over many years - Welcome back. Take care of your wrists, coming back as an adult requires stretching and good posture to avoid strain.
X17 players are around. I recommend the "all in one" resource thread, it has some of the discord channels that people congregate in, once there, you can probably, quickly find a more private discord channel with some of the the oldies you are looking for.
I don't really user discord so I have no advice there.
Once again, welcome back.

I'm an ex [LighT] member (phew, thanks for bringing me down memory lane!) but I don't remember you ever being on the team. The owner didn't remember it either when he made the announcement that the team was ending, where he listed all the members in a thread called "The End of An Era". So, I'm pretty sure you never were, but if I'm wrong, you can mention when it is that you joined, and I'll try to verify the information. I'm also confident you were never in Nal. Maybe you just made that ID on US East to feel special or something, but it's deceptive to list that as an aka. As an aside, I think my friend "iOi" on TeamLiquid was the only foreigner in Nal, and it wasn't due to his skill level, he was just good friends with them. You weren't.
One thing I do remember is that you were somewhat infamous on the French Canadian PokerCollectif forum for scamming a well-known user in the community there for $5000. (Here's a link to the English thread on 2+2). I'm pretty sure this was never resolved since the thread remained open for years with updates and other people saying that they were stolen from and lied to as well, so if you play with Teacher or get involved with him, you should probably not do any betting or anything that involves money or trust.

I'm pretty sure he was actually in [LighT] for a very short period, most likely as a Trial member. I was also a trial member as IscariOt[LighT], but I left before the trial period ended.
Still doesn't make up for him most likely stealing from two decent sounding dudes. Damn.

I wouldn't count being on trial or not passing trial as being a member, or as a legitimate "aka" since it's temporary, but okay, if that's true, then at least it's not a straight up lie like the Nal one he most definitely made up. Thanks for clarifying.
Yeah, there's apparently more than two people, and I'm just worried that some people who don't know better might get to trust him more easily with those impressive sounding names.

Hey! Nice to see you around again. I remember your name but I don't think we ever spoke to each other. I indeed was in LighT but for a very short amount of time (2 months). I actually even played on lan against Simon & Schism. Freaky was there also (the zerg guy) but i don't remember if he was a part of LighT at that time. I think the replay between me and Schism are still out there on Gosugamers (if the site still exist..)
I was in Nal in 2003-2004. You can ask PsycO. I even bought at that time lessons from incontroL (r.i.p). That was such a long time ago lol. I never heard of iOi but Psyco was a french canadian living in Chicoutimi and he also was in Nal so i don't know where you get your informations but that's ok. And there was way more than 1 foreigner in Nal... Nick was in Nal at some point, i think Draco was also? (not sure though..) and some chinese that i never personally spoke to.
As for as the poker situation with Gab (the guy who made the thread you're refering to) well you can believe what you want. I've tried multiples time to reach out to him (especially at the time the whole incident happened (August 2013) and it didn't work out. I don't know where he is nowadays but if you're in contact with him or know him personally you can tell him to PM me.
I'm not gonna get into details in public though as i already done that plenty of times. The only thing i'm gonna say is i still live where i used to live, i still hangout with most of the same people since that time and even though he made plenty of death threats well, i'm still alive and well.
It doesn't really bother me what people that don't know either of us or anything about the situation says tbh.
EDIT: Oh, you're Etienne? lol. I understand why all the hate now haha. Hope you're doing well.

I was living there in 2016.
Funny story: I was out in a club one night and there was a table with 4 whites dudes (it was a local Thai place and we basically were the only whites people there) so i went to say hi and one of them told me he used to play Starcraft. And he seemed to know alot about the scene and was naming alot of oldschool players and i was really curious to know what his name was. It was Alumette lol.
We actually spent the night together with one of his friend talking about broodwar all night long and took this pic the next morning lol.

I used to play with Alu back in 1998-2000, he used the ID Scvonstim&crak. I played with him quite a bit back then and rarely beat him, if ever. He was very good back in those days.
