The maps have been updated, the creators coached by Freakling and we've ended up with some amazing maps ready to be played by you all in some test tournaments. It's very possible if they all play well that we might see every single map in the next season of STPL so let's hope we see some good games! Every map to be showcased will be new for the STPL and new for tournaments in general. I think there's been some showmatches on Minerals maps including this one, but this is the first time it'll be used in a tournament setting!
Here is how Blindside looked in the beginning.
and here how it looks after an amazing amount of work by Minerals to fix any issues!
The tournament will be double elimination Bo1 up until the finals which will be one match of Bo3. All games in the tournament will be played on Blindside (link will appear below) and the tournament is open for everyone who is currently in an STPL team, either current teams or teams from previous seasons.
There will be a $10 prizepool for the winner of each tournament.
The tournament will start at 15:00CEST on the 26th of September and checkin will begin at 14:30CEST.
I will be streaming select games from the map test tournaments throughout the week on the usual times of Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 21:00CEST over on the usual channel https://twitch.tv/stpl
This requires all replays to be uploaded to Challonge so please can you ensure that this is done!

He added filters. I've now got a picture without the filters!
Minerals (his new username!) just added $10 to the prizepool as well.

bo1 with 10 players would be quite silly tbh
We only have 5 people in the end, the other 5 couldn't make it. I'll change it to bo3 tomorrow.
Telecom I only did it this early because BSL isn't too far away from now and so is Nation Wars, tried to fit a time where it wouldn't get in the way!

And it fitted in perfectly. It finished 15 minutes before the default NW time.
A few pointers for the map: - the newest version (0.78) has the gas moved below the nexus/cc/hatch at the 12 o'clock position. this requires 4 workers for optimal mining - the gas at the 12 o'clock natural has buggy worker pathing and also requires more than 3 workers for optimal mining
I've only played PvZ and PvP on it, and it seemed alright. The base is so huge on both sides of the minerals, that it's kind of unnerving against drops, but that's nothing unusual. The 3rd base is very close by, but still pretty open. That seemed fine so far, too. No idea if you can make a pylon wall against vults in some of the spots, that would be interesting to know.
