Interview before the semi-final
Q1: Hello, first, congratulations advancing to the Finals. Did you expect to be this successful, considering there are so many competitive players in this tournament? Who would you rather face in the final?
Silky: Thanks! I expected to be in the main bracket, but yeah there are really good players here so making the finals is very nice. If I had to choose between the two I'd prefer Antis since I beat him during the regular season, and I haven't played MaSa in a while.
MaSa: Thanks, and although I'm not confident lately, I knew I could do well in this tournament. I'd face Kane to assert dominance on my Canadian fellow.
Q2: Have you faced any challenges or were there opponents that impressed you during your regular season or playoff run?
Silky: Everyone I played I took seriously but I didn't find it all that challenging. I think Pilipili was the person I was most scared of as my zvp hasn't been good recently and I didn't feel as confident.
MaSa: So far, I've had a few hiccups here and there, but I came out ahead on every match. I was most impressed with Antis; I could tell he improved a lot.
Q3: As one of the best SC2 student players in North America, how do you balance study and gaming?
Silky: Honestly it's difficult to do. My program in school takes up a lot of time so I can't really devote as much as I'd like to sc2 so I've always felt like I could be better if I got a chance to put in the effort. But I generally try to manage my time as well as I can and complete assignments early so that I can play.
MaSa: For me, I wasn't good at balancing. Whenever I got good grades, I'd fail in tournaments, Whenever I got bad grades, I would show some results in tournaments.
Q4: Any words for your fans?
Silky: Thanks for the support I'm always happy to have people cheering for me!
MaSa: I hope to prove that I'm the best student sc2 player!
