Hello TL, I discovered a new glitch that came just with this new patch recently as I was messing around on Fastest map, and already last night I have had 1 Korean Protoss abuse the glitch vs me.
The Glitch is game breaking only in the early game, basically now after the new patch you are able to keep workers stacked indefinitely forever after they are stacked once, this means you can micro your workers (Yes, while they are stacked now.) non stop. The DPS is very high from the workers and the ability to properly micro stacked workers along with a 2gate Zealot / Bunker rush is completely imbalanced.
I am posting this here to create awareness of the issue / so Blizzard patches it quickly and also posting it on Battle.net, I assume if you abuse this glitch a lot on Ladder you will get your account banned / wiped, I am not going to disclose instructions on how to do the glitch.
Please fix this Blizzard, along with everything else.
EDIT : The worker stack / gas glitch has always been around, but you were never able to keep the workers stacked indefinetly nonstop, with wherever / whatever you click on and then go back to being stacked / attacking, without restacking / reglitching them again.
EDIT 2 : Incase you are wondering how this is "Game Breaking" ,
-Zergs sending stacked drones with an early pool (This is obviously the weakest variance) - Protoss sending stacked microable super DPS Probes with 2gate Zealot attack - Terran sending stacked microable super DPS SCVS with bunker rush.
The workers remain stacked no matter what you click on and they are able to be microed fully now / it gives the workers more of a fluid movement, they will pass through anything.
EDIT 3 : This also makes the worker a super Scout, as it will pass through anything permanently now as well.

I used to play a lot of fastest map, im pretty sure people got good enough to keep their workers stacked indefinitely using shift commands but please correct me if im wrong.

Nope, workers would previously stay stacked unless you issued them a command then they would unstack, now you can freely micro / control them / put them back on minerals / they are constantly mineral walking / stacking / you can run workers around and snipe buildings then send back with units, etc.
As stated previously, you could always stack workers on gas, but now they will NOT unstack if you issue them more orders, they are permanently stacked.

UPDATE : I just spoke with GrantTheAnt / Matt Sherman @ Remastered Team, they were thankful that this was brought to their attention. I shared replays with them and they said they will get to work on fixing this soon, just so you all know.
So don't worry, Blizzard is aware of this now.

Hopefully they fix it that way that it only goes back to how it was before. Stacking is a major feature on fastest type maps.

Good that they're aware of it, because this is a game-breaking bug if I've ever seen one

Idk, super DPS probes and SCVs sounds like an awesome move from Dragon Ball and I would be kind of sad if they remove it.
Seriously though, I understand how it can be unbalanced to an extreme and for sure this has to go .

I just always wonder how rotten and foul one must be to abuse these kinds of things, if not as an unanimous joke in a custom game or something.

I tried on ladder but failed so far...

Maybe they can fix the shift- stack attack bug also then, as that also is heavily abused for defense.

Another thing I just experienced for the first time ever:
Same would happen with tanks while they were sieging. Just a flickering black box. Every CC looked like that, and while training an SCV the door and roof blinking would still pop up lol.

This was an old trick back in the day, only it seems with this new patch is way easier to perform. It doesn't metter how gamebreaking or broken this is, stacking workers like this, same as allied mines is banned from competitive play, it is illegal. If you like BW, training, learning builds and getting better at the game, don't ever use it in a real game because is the same as using hacks

It's not the same as using hacks. Hacks are 3rd party tools. This is part of the game. And its not about tournament. Its about ladder. Even ground units would stack back in the day. The famous hydra stack!

Yes it is the same as using hacks. Do as much mental gymnastics as you want to cope with being scum; you are a cheater and deserve to be perm banned if you do this on ladder.

Agreed that it is just another form of cheating.

Hacks are one sided. Only one person will be hacking in a game (even if its possible for both players to be).
And hacks are very very rare Ive encountered only 1 hacker in over 10 years of play.
This glitch (as the title of the post) can be done by anyone.
I think it benefits Terran in a straight up fight because of SCV HP.
Maybe possible to micro stacked probes from a distance and avoid being hit.
I am opposed to both but they are different things.
|
It will benefit the guy with an army behind it. I.E 6pool. OP rush if you pull drones.
If youve played one hacker in ten years you havent played a lot. Just a year or two ago hacks were ALLOVER the game and Blizz did zero about it. And yes im talking bnet now not priv servers.
Also you could be playing a hacker without even knowing. Part of hacking is to disguise the hack to not get caught.
