I've uploaded my Civilization mod to EU server. I'ts like 60% finished, but well playable yet. It's a very preciese replica of a real civ, I believe. So if there are some civ lovers present, I'd like to know your opinion about this mod. Especially about tactics.
City production and researches are turn-based, but battles ain't, right. I've tried to play some turn-based games in sc2. Not realy entertaining. And turn-based civ mod game would take years to finish.
Well, actually I like turn based games, while they are singleplayer. But I hate to wait until other players finish their turns. And I was always dreaming to apply my civ skills vs other players, but it doesn't seems ane real to play a good civ game with 10 players and don't spend 80% of time waiting. Even if turns are simultaneous, it's annoying to wait until everyone will end fucking turn.
So, I've decided to make civ as realtime as it's possible, still having all turn based fun sources.
But still it's pretty easy to make it back totally turn based. I just hope I won't need to, So, now I'm testing it, trying to make it as fun as the original civ.
the cool thing about this is that its multiplayer, like ive played the civ games but always single player and never with other people, so it should be good, simply because of that

Similar words were said right at the start of the SC2BW-thread, "Why won't you just play BW?".
The answer might just be as simple as "Because, why not?". If people want something like Civ in SC2, then this will be an opportunity to experience that. It's not the same, it's probably not as good, but sometimes all one needs is something that approaches the real deal to be good enough.

There's a pretty fundamental difference between BW and Civilisation though, since they're making new Civilisation games, with the fifth game having been released last year. Whereas the SC2:BW mod actually has some merit since SC2 has an updated engine, new pathing (if that's included in the mod), updated graphics, and so on.
THANK SO MUCH, PLEASE ADD THE MOOD TO THE US SERVER.
Also, can you make a option of when you feel you lose to an other player, you can surrender but you are still in the game. You're like his puppet state. But you can always make a rebellion.

Well, Civ5 sucked, and tbh some people like the concept of buying one game, then getting simpler versions of other games for free, just with Blizzard graphics.

Yeah; i mean you also see games like Lightcycles despite competing products like Armegetron(sp?), etc. I think the plentiful nature of Sc2 custom maps is a huge plus and adds a lot of depth to the game :D

I will add the mod to US server when I finish it. In 3-4 weeks, I believe, it will be finished and polished.
And I am going to create a cool diplomacy system, to include all kind of agreements you can make in real civ, or like the real countries make between each other. So yeah, players will be able to become a puppy and then betray the master.
There is a video of tense lategame fight against equal enemy, with alot of air battles.
In real civ you can build air fighters and bombers in your cities. And fighters attack bombers if they try to bombard the cities. So, there you can see how it works in my mod. Fighters are actually good vs land units, but I love how they fight in the sky.
Also, in this video you can see some lategame units, including some which weren't present in civ, like futuristic robot tanks.
