I hope it is okay to post this here, please notify me if it isn't. I recently started streaming some Brood War bot development streams with some great developers. I think it is quite interesting if you're a programmer yourself, or just dabble, but even if you are a gamer too. In the latter case, I recommend the latest one with NiteKat, where we built up a bot from scratch:
The other authors I have interviewed/casted so far: Johan de Jong, author of BananaBrain (Protoss)
Impie, the author of If Bot, and Kangaroo Bot (yes, he is an Aussie)
Bruce Nielsen, the author of Locutus (Protoss, winner of multiple tournaments)
I stream on my Twitch (sonkomagnus)
I hope this is something interesting for this community - I sincerely think it is. (And yes, I'm pushing my own content a bit here)
Feel free to tune in, ask questions, and be a part of this scene - we are a friendly bunch
Sonko
ps.: I will post the recordings here in the future, but I don't think I should post the stream announcements.
Okay, I'll just ignore my own rules, seeing the reception. The next stream will be at 15:00 CET tomorrow (Monday, 11.11), and my guest will be Hao Pan. We will probably implement some nuking
you guys could check out Pr0nogo he does ai stuff as well but its all for campaign stuff though rather than melee this is his youtube channel if you guys are interested in something that blizzard couldnt/didnt do as well as a lot of other stuff https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUBS976BJW0WmTpnUD81b3Q
locutus is the toughest AI available at the moment. Even letting it play against other bots it's dominated almost every single game I've tested in my computer
Locutus is indeed a tough bot - I heard from people that it is almost impossible to beat in goon micro. As in, actual humans have failed. I hope you watched the Locutus stream!
