The goal of these events is to raise money to send Rifkin to Blizzcon. If the goals aren't met, any funds raised will either be used to help offset the cost of travel, or be pledged towards future events, so it's a win-win either way
Showmatches Oct 26th - 5:00PM PDT / 8:00PM EDT
$100 Future vs Disk BO7 $100 Puck vs TBD BO7
$200 EU Invitational Oct 27th - 5:00PM PDT / 8:00PM EDT (3 hours before WCS)
Could you please explain what you would do if you were at Blizzcon? Is this just a gofundme so you can hang out at Blizzcon or would you be involved in the production of some sort of content? I think adding some detail here would really help motivate people to donate. :D

Sorry, maybe it's just me, but I find it a bit offensive that the guy who addresses to sc2 community "get me to blizzcon" plays WoW during group B matches at blizzcon.
I'll auction off my weekend to the highest bidder. Send me a dollar to play SC2 on stream. Then someone else sends me slighly more to play BW. Then someone else sends me even more to play chess. Then someone else sends me even more to play cards with my dog. All proceeds go towards sending me to Blizzcon
Profits beyond what I need to get to Blizzcon will be used to send me to Blizzcon next year

Indeed, this post should state what he hopes to do at Blizzcon... interviews?, videos?, something?...
So he can have a good time. Trying out WoW, Diablo Immortal, hanging out with the casters and other sc players, you know, regular stuff a person would do at Blizzcon. Only difference is this would be funded by the fans.
I can't even imagine having the audacity to try this. So much self-importance lol. I guess no harm in trying to get yourself a paid trip to blizzcon but lol
Hello everyone, this is me addressing this thread as Rifkin, using the BaseTradeTV TL account since I don't have one of my own (well, I do, but i can't find the email attached to the account to recover the password). The views and comments I'm about to express do not reflect on the company as a whole, and should not be used to represent BaseTradeTV.
Before I even begin to address this thread, I'd like to remind you that not a single person is obligated to donate, or contribute. I'm honestly quite confused as to what everyone is upset about.

I would just be attending. I plan to meet and hang out with fans, tweet some pictures, as I do every blizzcon, but there is no promise of any kind other than putting on showmatches & an 8 man invitational event leading up to it.

It's your right to feel offended, as it is my right to stream and play whatever games I want. It's also, in my personal opinion, very stupid for you to feel offended over this. My life doesn't cease to exist because WCS is on.

I am not BaseTradeTV the company, in every literal, financial and physical way, I work for BaseTradeTV.

Yes, due to circumstances that have come up throughout the year, I haven't been able to attend a single event, thus haven't seen any friends, got the chance to hang out or talk with players, etc.

Which part, hosting Starcraft 2 tournaments for years, constantly & transparently fundraising money for everyone else exept myself or the part where I needed some help financially for once? Haha, I'm poor.

You might want to work on your imagination then, because it worked. My flight was fully funded on Day 0 (Not streaming any Starcraft 2). Regardless, I will still be hosting and commentating the rest of this tournament, so if you can get over your own projections of self-importance, maybe you could enjoy some of the games, especially since we have some pretty awesome players lined up for the RO8.
Jesus... So basically BasetradeTV offered us showmatches and a little tournament played by pretty good pros so we can enjoy with absolutely no obligation to donate or sub or anything, and tell us that every tip would be going to pay the staff for his personal stuff... something that EVERY streamer does.
The only thing that could be better would be shifting the focus of the post from his travel to the tournaments, that's it. Everything else is not different from the other content-creators: I offer you content and games, you pay me if you feel like it.
