G3258 is most likely your bottleneck here.
Tried some other games and checked cpu/gpu load?
Install MSI Afterburner or equivalent to get numbers in-game while playing.

I'm currently running a G3258 CPU overclocked to 4,4Ghz with an AMD HD7950 GPU on a standard 1080p monitor. With my current setup in late game 200vs200 supply fights I'm seeing pretty noticeable FPS drops, down to 20ish at times. Will I see even worse FPS on 1440p resolution or is that all on the GPU, which I guess even the old HD7950 should be able to handle especially with the medium/low settings I'm running? Thank you in advance for helping! I'd expect the FPS in those kinds of situations to be the same, yeah, but both the CPU and GPU will hold you back when trying to hit good framerates on a variety of other games.

2-6% 3900x performance increases in the games benchmarked with new AGESA to improve boosting behavior, minimal if any voltage changes

Yeah, that's what I figured as well. Other games it's definitely more noticeable, but I mostly just play SC2 so I've been holding out on upgrading. The most demanding game I've ran is GTA V and it ran pretty well. Wanting to check out Control but that would be tough to run most likely. Yesterday I found a weird issue with my OC. For some reason every time I restart PC from Windows, the OC settings go back to the stock 3,2Ghz. Shutting down and turning it on again, it will remain at 4,4Ghz. No idea why this is happening, but I think the 20ish FPS scenario was in fact at the stock 3,2Ghz. Overclocking is through BIOS, and the settings in BIOS remain at 4,4Ghz in all scenarios. If I visit bios after PC restart, the overclock also stays on.

Get a 1$ piezo speaker, attach it to the beep code slot of your mainboard, and see if there is a beep code. These usually tell you enough to narrow down what the problem might be. I tried beforehand with my speakers, bios shout post without them any but 'hey just incase'! I get no post. everything powers on but nothing loads.

The thingy that's BIOS trying to do when the PC is starting and based on what the beeps are made? Not sure, I haven't touched HW side of things for years now, so my knowledge is ancient. Edit> PSU is fine? If there's not enough power for CPU then the fans would run and LEDs would be blinking, but the CPU wouldn't be running and without CPU no POST? (again, I haven't touched the HW for ages, maybe the new mobos can run it without CPU)

I've got a 850w power supply that I reused in place. Which is way more then everything in my build will ever need. Everything boots, fan kick on, it will black screen the monitor if I unplug/ go back to blue 'no signal' if I reset to hdmi. I took some canned air and dusted everything, made sure everything was seated correctly, video card is back in it's original slot, it just doesn't make it past the point of power. I hit the switch -> everything powers on -> no post -> wtf? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2Xys9J This was the build I basically went with I reused some older parts but it's mostly the exact build that I have.

Some more ideas i have: Your motherboard does have a "bad processor" beep code, so if that were the problem, it should give you some response. I assume you also tested without any ram in it? Or just the motherboard with nothing attached to it at all? If you don't get a beep code then, in my opinion that would mean that your motherboard is the problem.

Yeah, I already send a email to them so just waiting game to send back forth. I wanted to cover possibilities... I put together some old parts to make something run for now so bleh, It's old, it's slow, but it ironically works while my modern doesn't t.t! [edit] that sounded harsher then meant. I get it sometimes things just show up faulty. I'm just annoyed because it happened to me xP!

An example high end build I've seen is: CPU - i9.9900K Motherboard - Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Pro WiFi RAM - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200, 32GB GPU - ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 2080ti Twin Fan 11GB SSD - XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB NVMe Case - NZXT H200i Mini ITX PSU - Seasonic SSR 850PX CPU Cooler - NZXT Kraken M22 120mm I don't need the full 2080ti, the primary things the GPU is going yo be responsible for is Maya's viewport and Substance Painter, both important but I shouldn't seriously need that much power to make them be lag free most of the time. That being said my current GTX1060 gets too much lag for me to comfortable with and in some cases makes the program notably less functional than I need it to be, so I'd he looking for the 2070 range or higher for sure. In the article I ripped these specs from it mentions needing a two slot GPU for the Mini ITX form factor, and I'm not firmly aware of the best way to filter that sort of thing for hardware. Stronger than CPU the better though, and I don't mind dropping cash on good parts. Does anyone have any recommendations for this build or just choosing parts for a Mini ITX build with a high quality GPU and CPU?
