Sainz and Hulk will be investigated for that surely. You can clearly see the Ferraris trying to pass, even one of them waiving his hands and after that it went bonkers because they were already late regardless. Lewis tried to blame it on Ferrari but it wasnt clearly their fault.

Renaults near the top? What is this? Opposite day? Vettel showing everyone, yet again, that he needs to retire Bottas showing everyone, yet again, that he needs to retire. Gz to Leclerc! Some knife edge defending there, but it worked out.

Sad about McLaren today but a point is a point. They deserve the 4th place on the WCC.

Did he get hit? Did he just misjudge the distance? Give us a 3rd person camera ffs. Renaults near the top? What is this? Opposite day? Why is it rude to Bottas but not Vettel? Vettel is better than Bottas is right now. He was supposed to show up this season, did so for 3 races, and then haven't been anywhere. His massive mistakes behind Leclerc when he was in a prime position to overtake with much much better tires is a clear sign of where he's at. It's not that you aren't allowed to ever do a mistake, but he's just meh all around atm.

Leclerc and Hamilton had been battling for a long time, and Leclerc's tires (and Hamilton's) were toast. Bottas had been cruising behind for the entire time, putting him in a prime position to overtake at the end.

There were only 4 laps in the whole race in which he was 0.9 seconds or more quicker than Leclerc. Starting at about lap 40 it was around 3 tenths a lap.

That's because he reached the distance where your lose enough drag through the corners, but don't gain enough to get it back through the straights. The 1-1.3 second behind is an absolute death zone in the current iteration of F1 cars. He got through it, and were twice down to 0.5s, well within overtaking distance. Then he made mistakes and was left behind. Most other drivers in his situation would have made the overtake. Happy for Leclerc of course, he drove well, but Bottas had a huge opportunity, and just pissed it away. That had been his story for most of this season, and the entierty of the last one. He's shown he's not improving, and he's not doing his job. With the current amazing talent pool we have in F1 and F2, he should just let someone else take over the reins
