Like, this game is gorgeous. Everything about it is so different. Reminds me of Horizon with how they're trying new things with AAA titles and it isn't already an established franchise.

Can not agree more. Honestly what has been shown just looks too boring for me to want to play. The massive areas with nothing in them doesn't make me want to explore or connect whats in them. I'm guessing there are things we don't know about maybe in the story or gameplay-wise, but is that enough? Looks like some sort of rebuilding of the wastes in giant sandbox worlds that players inhabit? The graphics are nice and the menu system seems crazy detailed and robust, if not very complex. The monster combat and AI looked pretty meh.
The initial hype seemed large even for me, but with every new reveal or trailer I find myself not caring more and more about where this is going. Probably just won't be a game for me although I had some interest from announcement.
Even if it isn’t, it does at least seem to be the game Kojima wants to make, and its a sad indictment of the industry that I’m struggling to think of a recent big budget game that has a similarly weird and idiosyncratic feel to it.
Would probably be good for the industry if something this weird looking was a hit, might have a ripple effect where others decide to take more creative risks.
