I don't understand the # - # - # reference I keep hearing If the term haven't changed since I played sc2 last, many a moon ago, it means 2 barracks, 2 factories, 2 starports that's not a build though and would make absolutely no sense in any matchup? i'm as confused as him. i've never heard of 2-2-2...? Never heard of it either. I just know that 2-1-1 was a popular build before, which was 2 rax 1 factory 1 starport. I'm assuming the 2-2-2 is in combination with some kind of all in actually i remember there was a 2-2-2 colossus allin years and years ago back in HOTS, but that's a protoss build. maybe someone was talking about PvT and Herbz misunderstood? no clue

How big is LotV alone? I have all three (WoL+HotS and LotV) and they togehter take 37GB space. I am thinking to uninstall the first two because I haven't played them since LotV release.

I reinstalled 4 months ago and it's already 32GB, I don't think you can just remove wol and hots.

It was 55GB. I uninstalled and reinstalled yesterday. sc2 itself says 23,8GB now.
edit: HDD says 33GB. Where are the 10GB difference? a hidden sc2 folder?! battle.net downloaded 27gb datas of sc2.

Old patches perhaps? I am unsure if patches are deleted after installed or saved on drive.

my hdd is trolling. suddenly I have 8gb more free space. I didn't uninstall/delete anything today and sc2 folder still uses 23,8GB.

My experience with managing install size on my older laptop before I upgraded was to uninstall then reinstall and then from the battle net launcher pause it after it has updated to playable and not let it install all the way to optimal. I think that keeps the file size lower than it would otherwise be.

Is there ever a situation where the default thor attack mode is used still? When I watch other players it seems like the long range attack mode is used exclusively.

Are e-sport players winnings published in liquipedia taxed later? If yes, is it dependent on home country of a player or the country where a tournament takes place? What about online? How high are example rates?

Can you play the with the proposed changes for the upcoming patch in custom games, or is it only in Testing against random players?
Edit: Ah you can! You just need to add an extension mod in the lobby!

I am a gold-level zerg player. One of my strategies while playing against any race most of the time is to tech up to brood lords and ulralisks as fast as possible while on a 3 base(zerg as they are more aggressive), 4 base(Protoss as i need to win before they get death ball), or 5 bases (Terran as they turtle more often) economy. This strategy can counter any ground-based army and strategy of all 3 races. I only change if they go air. This strategy probably sounds dumb, but it actually won me most games in gold and a lot of platinum games. My question is whether or not this strat can work in higher ladders and how I can better defend against more aggressive players who try for early pushes.

My question is whether or not this strat can work in higher ladders and how I can better defend against more aggressive players who try for early pushes. fast brood lords is a fairly normal strategy in ZvP actually. skip ultras against protoss because they're bad. 5 base would be more typical but 4 base is probably fine considering gold level macro. note that in the current meta zerg is considered favored against deathball because mass infestor dumpsters skytoss, so consider trying infestors too.
ultras and brood lords are also pretty normal in ZvT. brood lords can be hard to use because they are immobile, but if you push when you make them and then switch back into ultras or other tech you should be okay.
against zerg at higher levels you will probably be obliterated trying to go to hive tech on 3 base, people will just roll over you with roach ravager. you usually need to wait much longer before going to hive tech in ZvZ. typically you stabilize on lurkers before hive, then get hive and upgrades, then add your ultra or brood lord tech on 5-6 bases or more. but defensive hive play in ZvZ is generally difficult. lurkers are key because they enable you to defend positions without having equal supply.
how you defend better against aggression depends on a million things and what build you're facing, but the two easiest general answers are probably scout your opponent when they're on 2 bases and build queens and spores
against zerg it's a bit different because you only want queens and spores against muta - otherwise a decent rule is to make a lot of roaches on 2 base, then attack if your opponent made too many drones. it's always a back and forth of defending or pushing with roaches depending on when you and your opponent add tech

i used to play sc2 back in WOL, got to high masters and would play gm's occasionally. Havent played or followed the scene in at least 5 years though.
Can anyone give me a basic description of how the races play? Whos aggressive, harass focused, etc? I imagine things have changed quite a bit. Not sure who to play when i jump back in.

That's a bit of a vague question tbh. I'll give my two cents anyhow.
From my P perspective all I can say is...
PvP is a cheesefest. Full of random strategies.
PvZ is mostly a coinflip between ravager cheese & lingbling macro
PvT is mostly macro bio, haven't seen much cheese from T's this year. Dunno why.
This is at D1.

is there a current updated SC2 Test Map in the Arcade I can use for experiments? many of the top rated test maps haven't been patched in years.

How do you watch replays you just played the best way.
A lot of casters has some nice overlay, amount of workers who got killed and units killed and income graph and stuff.
Can u get all that, when you have played a match and enter the "leave game" or "rewind" ?

Hey best key board tricks for selecting units and making hotkeys?
I basically just use my mouse and need better ways of selecting units and making hotkeys.
