Leclerc confirmed Ferrari went through with what Binotto said they were going to try out and that it seemed to work at this track. They basically have decided to change their car setup to sacrifice some of their straight line speed advantage in exchange for more downforce for the front of the car. My understanding from what I read is that this will both allow them to corner better (more downforce) and will put more energy into the front tires, ideally keeping them at a better operating temperature range since previously their car wasn't keeping the tires consistently in the "window" enough and it was having a substantial impact on their performance.

replay https://streamable.com/1yezt well well well consistency would probably mean this has to be a penalty but I can't see FIA wanting to repeat this shitshow so soon e: onboard Max https://streamable.com/yo3gc full sky analysis https://streamable.com/32cou

They were wheel to wheel and Max didn't leave any room, even opened the steering a bit and ran wider than he needed to. Given how harsh the stewards were with 50/50 calls I'd say it would be surprising if theylet him get away with it.

While I think moves like that should be penalised the stewards usually don't do anything about them.

The best part for me was when during a post race interview Leclerc said 'yeah the red bulls were qui...eh...well... Max was quick' . Gasly becoming a meme even for the other drivers. Red Bull has to replace him surely, he's way worse than Kvyat ever was before he got the boot. I mean Gasly got fucking lapped by Verstappen, after Verstappen failed to start well. Wtf man

For the guys calling for a penalty, count how many times people bailed out of trying to go around the outside of somebody in that corner in this one race. You don't put yourself in that position because you will always be run out of road by the other driver.

I mean they don't have to be equal or beat Max, just get somewhat similar laptimes and not almost a second off the pace every race. I'm sure both Kvyat and Albon could do better. I'd also like RB to buy Ocon maybe even if that would go against their programme.

It worked the lap before, Max left room and Leclerc was able to get past into the next turn, that was what max wanted to avoid so he left no room this time. I think this is a 50/50 call that should probably be let go as a racing incident, however since FIA have been strict this seaosn they should be consistent and that would mean a penalty. e: this Rosberg/Max incident everyone comparing it too that got a penalty 2016, seems more blatant tho

I could understand a penalty given that he basically bumps him off track but it could just as well be racing. Though I don't know if there's any way Leclerc takes that corner while still being ahead.

comparison of lap before and the crash Also apparently stewards ruling not expected for 90 minutes from now, really giving the dutch time to disperse if its bad news =) e: also because FIA didn't show it during race
