Does spam Attack clicking also help units effectively attack up the ramp? That is compared to one attack click up or down the ramp into null space?

It will be better, in most cases, to spam-click near the bottom of the ramp, then get vision of whatever is blocking the ramp, a-click the ramp, then click at the bottom of the ramp again. This way, the units will stay together, and you can put the hurt units in the back. If there is a ranged unit behind melee units blocking the ramp, you may have to click on the individual melee units to attack them, because your dudes will try to attack the ranged unit(s). That's mostly for stuff like medic-walls (I know you're aware of medic walls... I don't think you're stupid, but someone else might read this and go "OH"). Dragoons are pretty slow to fire, so that shouldn't be an issue. | ||

This is the same for A-click with the twist of being able to search for enemies also. If enemies are up the ramp, using A-click and units are inside its engage-range, it will go for attack instead of moving up the ramp and forget about pathfinding. When you A-click there is an activation time before it searches for enemies and will MOVE slightly forward before attacking. This is different per units because of different animation speeds and maybe also different activation times before searching enemies. As such.. Spamming A-click to try moving up a ramp + shoot at the same time may or may not work depending on what unit you try it with. I.E Marines have a long animation before shooting. Spamming A-click here will just reset the animation and Marine wont shoot and try move instead. Vultures dont have an attack animation and will move forward and perhaps shoot at the same time.. However Vultures demand a specific alignment toward enemies to fire its shot (which is why PATROL in a direction works to attack while moving) I wouldnt be surprised if Patrol-spamming could make vultures move forward up ramp meanwhile shooting your target. Id suggest you just try it out by making a "wall" or similar ramp-scenario you wanted to test, in StarEdit and try it out for yourself. Try it with many different units that you usually push a ramp with. Meanwhile having what i just talked about in mind. Try A-click. P-click etc.. Even rightclick (MOVE) + Hold command at same time. Hold command is prone to attack AT ONCE compared to Stop command. Stop command shouldnt really be used unless you want to 'Hold your shot in'. so to speak. As it inflicts a heavy pause. Edit: Another thing i forgot to mention which is quite important is that Hold command has a heavy pause between killing a unit and moving onto the next unit to attack. In this scenario if you for example can 1 shot an enemy and more enemies are to come that can also get 1 shotted. You should then NOT use Hold but Stop instead. Yes this will in worst case Move the unit instead of being in place but it will change target drastically faster than being on Hold. A good example here would be if you have units on a ramp trying to defend and you put em on Hold instead of Stop. They will then change target slower being on Hold.
