Only that h The first disc change in PSX era came after almost half of the game?

And the 3rd disc was just the very end of it. However, considering they're cutting the back half of disc one, they might be able to make it work for 3 games if they pad the right areas with new stuff.

Awesome like really awesome.
People who will buy FF7RE Part 2 will recieve the warm wellcome of KALM FLASHBACK.
That's sad man, not to mention that not only padding and attempt to canon the awful compilation on this pace the second game is possible to end before Aeris Death as Disk 2 is a huge fetchquestfest that can be ignored with only one new area then the Final Dungeon.
How they are going to split it? They will cut the retro on future parts when the PS4 is gone?
|
I could also see post Cosmo Canyon being a good place to cut considering it's starting from "You left Midgar". It's also make for a hell of a starting spot with Nibelheim in P3.
|
The whole cutting really makes no sense when you consider most of disc 2 were just sidequests. How they want to form all the episodes in to one cohesive story i dont know
Also will all you do in the previous games carry over to the next?
|
Does PSN have cloud saves? Cause without it I could see an issues with going from p1 on a PS4 to p2 on a PS5.
|
Only with psn plus I believe

End the "episode" after escaping Midgar and the roller boss fight at the end of the freeway. Then start the next with the flashback of Cloud, and Sephiroth with the other Shinra soldiers in the back of the armored truck with it raining outside.
Perfect.

Cloud looked much cooler in the first trailer. In the second he looks more lika a Korean boy singer with too much makeup on.

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has an interview with Final Fantasy VII Remake director Testuya Nomura, who shares various new details about the game.
- The watchmen of fate (the black mist in the trailer) are mysterious beings that appear before the party wherever they go. I hope that even those who have played the original game will enjoy the new elements.
- There are quite a bit of dialogue options. We are making it so the dialogue changes depending on your response, so the sheer volume of dialogue has increased.
- The Honey Bee Inn cross-dressing event is still in. We’ve made it more modern. If we made the facility like we did in the original game, the physical unease would be staggering, so that was no good…
- There are quite a few additions to the scenario. While the main story itself hasn’t changed, there are a countless number of new events. Otherwise we wouldn’t have two Blu-ray discs. (Laughs.)
- Aerith and Tifa are double heroines. One has a western-style look and the other an eastern-style look.
- We wanted Tifa to have abs, so she has an athletic body type. The ethics department at Square Enix also told us that we had to tighten her chest as not to get unnatural during all the intense action. From there we got the black underwear and fitted tank top.
- With an emphasis on immersion and exhilaration, you can fight without stress through the use of shortcuts. When you open the command menu, time slows and you can fight like a command battle.
- Each playable character has different enemy affinities.
- An item is required for MP recovery.
- For the sake of level design, we’re preparing a few new enemies where necessary.

The more and longer I think about this the more problems I see with only midgar. A full fledged game usually means leveling up a lot, getting better and better equipment stronger enemies etc.. How can this work when you go for 100% achievements (usually meaning yourparty is overleveled, super geared up etc) and then game 2 continues with your superparty? Or nothing at all carries over after an episode but then I will be super pissed having to start over and over again...
I am sorry but start of the game midgar being a whole episode can only work if its more a visual novel game than a rpg game no?

I'm sure they'll level cap it and continue the leveling system through the episodes. Doesn't make sense to have lvl 70 Cloud vs lvl 20 soldiers in part 2. It'll scale as needed as most RPGs do these days. Borderlands does it really easy (although each game has new characters so you basically have to start over). But I wouldn't worry about the level cap.

wanted to know what this MIST SHIT is about this is the first thing that came up it's a "major leak" from last year (you have been warned) + Show Spoiler +https://steamcommunity.com/app/39140/discussions/0/1745594817429966352/ yeah there are like 10 bits of 'common knowledge' slipped in there making it sound fake, but there is some interesting stuff there for sure given that THE MIST is apparently a thing

But if level cap is e.g. 20 why should I continue doing probably stupid meaningsless side quests?

Or the world after episode 1 adjusts to what level you are after beating it. Kind of like how Diablo 2 worked.

is it just me or is there some sort of soul-crushing irony in this statement lol

The cynicism in this thread is insane lmao

I find it amusing they felt the need to say "Tifa's boobs are bigger than they appear because she's wearing a sports bra."
