That's awesome, around how many people (and money) would qualify as enough interest? I'm assuming having some sort of sign up sheet and buy in like the NYC LAN is doing would be good to help fund the venue.

I think if I could get a solid 16+ players with a $5/$10 buy in, then I think I could get a $300-$500 prize pool. If I could get 32 players, then maybe more. The buy-in is just to cover the costs of taking up a PC at the cafe for a couple of hours. Typically our tournaments there have allowed players to play for most of their time there and ideally we'd have a setup so everyone gets enough opportunities to play without simply going 0-2 and being done for the day. On top of that, the pc cafe has always provided free food to the players - pizza, tacos, sandwiches, they just pick something the day of. In addition, Lotte has also provided us with a ton of snacks/drinks for the players.

If someone wants to take hold of official tournament organizing, I can put together some grassroot efforts to build hype, funds, and awareness of the tournament (i.e. hosting NA events/fundraisers leading up to the tournament to donate to the prize pool, etc.). At the end of the day, whoever is the official organizer will command the ship on it. I'd be down if it's just a small, fun event, but would also be down to build up to something larger. I have some ideas circulating in my head and I'm sure I can get some of the Blizzard team to join up for funsies, though not sure if we can justify an actual contribution from them.
