if they want to make a castrated version of sc2 for mobile that is completely separate, like the n64 version of SC1, then by all means

Starcraft 2 will die when Starcraft 3 or a better RTS releases, that's it.

Even with both players having the fastest CPU setup possible you can't always process the game ticks in time so the game slows down and turns into a slideshow for everybody in the game on certain maps and when units like zerglings are spammed. When even one player in the match has a weaker system it happens a lot easier. + Show Spoiler + 1v1 has become a lot smoother upgrading from 1'st gen to 9'th gen core and way faster RAM since release (the game gets >+20% FPS going from 2400mhz to 4000mhz dual channel) but still slows down noticably on the fastest hardware and is again limited by the performance of everybody else in the game - your opponents, observers etc. Every tournament recently aside from GSL(!) we've seen the game hitching and slowing down slightly at times because one of the observers or players is on a PC that's not the fastest or has some kind of broken setup for streaming the games - that's really easy when there are like 8 accounts in a single 1v1 game because of spammed observers - and that would infuriate me if i were playing competitively. Tournament organizers generally don't know or care why the game is running poorly for the competitors.
