"It's not like the game will be dead in 2019...I'm an optimistic guy, I'm a glass half full guy...SC2 will not die in 2019...I'm very optimistic" And rotti is like 'dude, the fuck, don't scare people and don't breach your NDA' I feel sc2 prize pool is going to be gutted How does it feel scary? What you have (on purpose, I assume) left out from your summary, is all the statements like: "this is a big positive" "2019 is going to be amazing" "2019 is going to be better than 2018" "there is nothing to be concerned about at all" "2019 looks very promising and Blizzard is very happy with how Starcraft did this year" "we have a lot to look forward to" "2019 is going to be good, the question mark is HOW good it's going to be" This is not what Rotti said at all, by the way: "I feel like right now you are almost scaring people and I don't think that's the right idea. We don't know details but we know a lot of good things. Just because we don't know the details doesn't mean that no good things are coming." You made it sound like they had to hide some bad news, which is absolutely not the case. He didn't even warn Maynard about breaching his NDA. You also put almost everything out of context and misquote the folks on the show. At this point I have to assume that this is deliberate in order to scare other people on the forum. Shame on you.

I would be willing to bet there was some kind of talk of downscaling on the summit.

Please watch and enjoy I'm sure you'll like it even though I'm there!

In my eyes, if Serral wins the next big global tournament (IEM Kato or WESG, whichever is first), he's bonjwa even without having won any "preparation style" tournaments. It would be completely unprecedented dominance. Funnily enough, if Maru had won this blizzcon (which I think would have happened if he got past sOs), we would be having the same conversation but instead about him. Funny how things work out, and really shows how far above the two are above others. if Serral wins the next big global tournament (IEM Kato or WESG, whichever is first), he's bonjwa even without having won any "preparation style"

Your chemistry with everyone is great and you brought a lot of humor and good insights. Keep being you!

Geoff was arguing there should be less slots for Australia because they aren't good enough compared to the European region, and that WCS should have a threshold for skill level. I don't disagree with the argument, but how can he say this with a straight face when WCS region locks ALL Koreans out? Top Europeans are pretty much at the level of Koreans, so how is this justifiable? I'm sorry, can you give this context? Without listening to the show yet and just reading your comment it seems like Incontrol is complaining that there's 2 Australians in WCS Winter NA, which is too many because only 32 Europeans can play in WCS Winter EU. And that doesn't sound like it's a real thing that happened.

And that doesn't sound like it's a real thing that happened. Yeah that's definitely not it, the whole section was pretty long and more complicated. Basically it started with ZG and feardragon not liking how WCS NA is this mixed pot where everything gets thrown together and how NA players have even less spots now. They also felt bad for Australia for example because they are just part the Americas now and don't have their own regional competition. So they should get their own thing. Incontrol thought they meant a smaller WCS just for Australia, but said they don't deserve that because nobody wants to watch the 8th best Australian player while the 8th best EU player is really good, so it makes sense that they have their own thing. They also don't deserve more spots in WCS Americas, 2 is about fine. He also said China is better than Australia and a way more exciting region, so them getting more spots is fair. But then feardragon and ZG clarified that they also just meant a regional Australia qualifier, online without a huge production and not another WCS event and 2 spots seems fair. They just want the regional competition back, in any form. Right now Australia has no identity and is just part of WCS Americas. Incontrol agreed with that and they basically agreed on everything in the end. There was a lot of confusion during the whole discussion, and some stuff got mixed up with Katowice, but in the end it all got cleared up. I hope I got this right, gotta watch it yourself maybe .

You know, in a similar manner to "nobody wants to watch the 8th best Australian player", I think having PsiArc or Probe or Gogojoey in WCS Winter NA improves it. Both Goeff and Artosis several times proved that Murrica > the rest of the world for them. I don't think that's inherently bad(actually I think it's pretty normal all over the world), but when they talk about the global starcraft(and I don't mean GSL ) it's sometimes funny And c'mon, people with names like Gogojoey should have a wildcard spot. Actually I believe there should be 1 free spot for a person with the most hilarious name! (no offense to Gogojoey, but this nickname always creates a big smile)
