*Still split on Serral's invites. Is he going to be invited and seeded into everything this year? That'll get old for me fast.

And let's be honest, unless Serral drops off massively, he would qualify for everything this year anyway.

For me it isn't about whether or not he would qualify nor about Rogue being invited to Katowice last year, it feels Serral's invites have become "trendy" by the end of this year going into next year. If it starts to happen constantly, I'll get sick of it which, who cares, but I also think there's something to be said about the competition and storylines that happen from tough qualifiers and that taking strong players out of every qualifier could be worse for the competition as a whole. Imo, removing challenges (tough players) for other players gives them fewer things to overcome, fewer opportunities to learn and get better. I also think it's a shame to remove the opportunity for an (unlikely, sure) upset to happen in the qualifiers even if the tournament organizers and a lot of viewers would be disappointed if it happened. I'm not saying it's false that the qualifiers could be more competitive when such a dominant player is removed from them and more room is made for other players, but I think it's bad to do constantly for a lot of reasons and I worry that it's going to become a constant thing.

Pretty sure he still has to qualify for all the WCS circuit events through challenger or show up for the open bracket, he still would have to qualify for any GSL event maybe there is a 2nd IEM event he gets invited to then the rest are stuff like nation wars and Homestory cup and ofc Blizzcon where you have to qualify.

Still a bit disapointed Serral is invited but it's not a big deal.

He was invited to what? WESG and HSC? very trendy.... It's insane to gloss over how IEM always invites the World Champion.
