July emerged onto the scene during Gilette OSL, where he beat Oov 3-2 in a famous series and went on to win the tournament against Reach, making him a royal roader and the first Zerg to ever win an OSL.
He quickly became the dominant player of the time, winning another OSL (Ever 2), a KT-KTF tournament and the ITV league. He also made another OSL final which he lost 3-0 to NaDa.
Nicknamed Tushin (The God of War), July is famous for his aggressive style. He has godly muta micro, his trademark. During his prime, there wasn’t a single Protoss that could win a series against him.
After reaching yet another OSL final in early 2006 and losing 3-0 to his old rival Oov, July lost his dominance and went into a small slump. Recently he’s shown promising signs of regaining his old confidence by beating XellOs and Oov in the Proleague finals in fine style and reaching the round of 16 in OSL.

A young, but very talanted protoss player.
A young, but very talanted protoss player.
Senior and rookie?
If you ask yourself: "How did they end up in the finals?" Because July hasnt been showing much good lately and BeSt has no achievements yet, so he must be one of the new players to the scene.
Well you got it wrong. July is back in action, still using all the Overmind's power to defeat any opponent. And BeSt, with his super mechanics, has won of many top players. Go check BeSt's fan-made hype movie: http://vimeo.com/1306266
I could note all the players July and BeSt have slain to become finalists, but i couldn't do it better then GrandInquisitor did. I will just thank him for his work, and link to the post he made: Ever 08 OSL Results & Standings
The games and my prediction
Im going to give my opinion on the games played. The maps played are:
+ Show Spoiler [One] +
Othello, known for it's good balance, at least at PvZ. July played this map twice, both resulting in a win for July. Best played it three times and he lost one, won two though. His loss was versus Mind. I think this will be an very close match. But because of the wide openings and good flanking possibilities in this map i'd give it to BeSt.
+ Show Spoiler [Two] +
The score is 1-0 for BeSt and they play on Troy. Troy is slightly less balanced then Othello. Five times protoss won over two wins from a zerg player. This gets more important when you look at the players matches on Troy. BeSt played this map five times and won 4. Where July only played it twice and lost both. This will be an easy win for BeSt. Protoss has a bnuch of possible strategies, where a normal play would do the protoss could also make his main an island and go 2 stargates and try to kill all the overlords the zerg has. It's going to be 2-0 by the time this game is over.
+ Show Spoiler [Three] +
The thrid game will be the fight for Andromeda. This map slightly favors zerg and that is because this map has an mineral only inside the main. Zerg could easily go an hydra-allin kind of play. And i know that July does not avoid those possibilities. Also muta harass is made possible on that same inside min-only. So a very hard map for an protoss player. I think July takes this one.
+ Show Spoiler [Four] +
Hwarangdo, the map which BeSt lost and won one against Luxury in the semis. July on the otherhand won this one from BackHo. The statistics say that zerg has an 75% chance to win over protoss. This will be the deciding map. The score is 2-1 for BeSt. July needs to win. So he is all pressured to win this one. He is fighting for the title. While on the other hand BeSt could lose this one and trust on his game, the fifth on Othello. I think if July doesn't collapse to the pressure he wins this one. But BeSt can play easy and try out some stuff. Maybe even trust on a cheese to give July more problems and more things to worry about. July takes this match, and we go on to game 5 of the grand finals.
+ Show Spoiler [Five] +
A tie, always the most exciting progression in any series. Othello, as said before, is greatly balanced and will make this final a great one to watch. I can't predict this one. July might have an boost for winning the fourth and making that tie. Or BeSt might feel conifdent because he won the first on this map.

Watch the live stream!
This will be epic for sure! I hope you will all be in the IRC channel and be hyping like every one there. The more people the more fun!
- Yaoyuan should work, with some delay to the Daum stream. Works only in Internet Explorer and requires the TVAnts plugin (download)
- The games will also be watchable via the Daum player (guide). If you receive an error message, refresh the page and/or change the streaming room.
- R1CH might have an great solution to watch. You can find him on the (IRC Channel).
