How would you judge someone like Dronebabo then, he has to be the worst poster here
Or lets say SayaSP, who almost excusively posts a sentence tops and never says anything of importance except for his reaver song?
Oh man, and Haji?
I'm not accusing here, just being honest
You haaaave to be consistant with this; like you said Manifesto it should be less about post count and more about quality posting and should apply to everyone, no?

I have, before this thread. You can't demand quality posting if its not for everyone.

I expect new posters to respond to a thread in the way the thread has been going. That means if the there's a lot of long timer posters making one sentence non-sequiturs that a new poster would try to do the same. I have to agree that you can't demand a different set of standards from new posters. After all, there really just trying to fit it.
I'm not trying to justify bad posting, just that the quality of new posters posting is going to roughly mirror that of the average, and if a lot of old-timers are posting one liners, that's what to expect

Your just trying to start a fight, Out of all the crappy posters you could've named (not that his choices are crappy), you picked some high-profile posters who clearly will have the admins on their side. You should stop before this escalates into you getting banned for a moot point. Its been said many times leeway is giving to previous quality posters.

This is going to get really really dirty.
For some reason that excites me

The problem is less in the point itself than the manner it is raised - short one liners which look more or less as an attempt to start a fight than to (ie, me-tooism) than trying to constructively point to posters you feel are getting off too easy. Now, I do believe that the point of the TL 10 commandments has somewhat been missed by people (ie, that people who may are fundamentally not posting very 'good' material can often be acceptable if their record of posting good content has been proven justifiably before), and that's fair enough. When this is combined with the proven track record of the staff to have faith in posters of an acceptable quality (and this is only my opinion on the issue), if any one member is going to single out someone as a 'bad poster' and it's a gray area/leniency has been given, they should put together a pretty good analysis/walloftext which tries to be reasonably objective about analysis of someone's posting standards. In that manner, not only can we clearly see members who feel they have a point to make, but if any staff wish to explain their decision then they can choose to do so.
Otherwise it looks like trolling.

Dude, the people (good ones) of TL respect the "nobodies". Some of the quietest people out there also qualify as the coolest too, they aren't busy trying to prove it. You'll find that out when you get together with some people outside of the forums, it's awesome.
Speaking of that, OSL finals party, San Diego? Where has semioldguy been?

Also, "nobodies" who make thoughtful posts and comments are usually the ones who have been stalking the site and reading threads for ages either before they signed up, or only comment when they think that there is a point that needs to be made.
And of course, the good players don't need to make posts at all.

it is OK to post one liners as long as you have something to contribue once in awhile, do not insult people for no reason, is relatively open-minded, etc, etc, basically just not an idiot. You'll be surprised at how mods can tell who is an idiot or not based on what someone writes....

It was the guy that Mani mentioned in the OP, setting the standard (a very low one) on what to avoid doing.

I've noticed the huge decline in effort in posts. I'm not sure why, but its weak...
TL.Net isn't the same place it once was. This was a lot different 2 years ago, before I even started posting. (Long time lurker)
I've noticed that lack of effort in some of my posts as well too though, but I do try at the same time.

It's times like these that being an unpopular, no-name poster come in handy.
