some injuries are "brutal luck"; some are the result of habitually reckless play.
a lot of old memories will be flooding into the mind of Jose Calderon as he faces his former team tonight.

Injury prevention is making strides, but, so far, even the broadest strokes are still fairly nebulous.

The only thing that these injuries provide are post hoc rationalizations that someone was "accident (edit: Injury) prone". His MVP status will always be below his real value

OKC's record in Russ's 30 triple doubles? 24-6. He's everything to that team on such a ridiculous level. Harden, Russ, LeBron, Kawhi. Any of those 4 are deserving. I'm not sure who is vote for. Good thing we still have 15ish games.

Every week I try to highlight an interesting read or graphic or video that I find... 3/7/2017:--An image to show the dominance of Rudy Gobert, a deserving DPOY winner: "No one in last 3 years has saved more points from within six feet than 2016-17 @rudygobert27. Oh, and he has 18 games to add to his total:" Source

For me, if Westbrook ends up averaging a triple-double at the end of the season on a +.500 playoff team, just give it to him. If he doesn't, then I say give it to Harden. They can all 4 be argued for though, it's a hard one.

Good thing we still have 15ish games. The triple doubles really are overblown, most of the boards are uncontested and defensive, as well as a result of his terrible contest rate. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/2j2oen/a_look_at_the_seeding_of_past_mvps/ WB's got the West's 7th seed so he's just not a contender for MVP. It's this stupid narrative they peddle every year but they'll always end up picking a top seed over a player carrying a lower seeded team. It's really Kawhi vs Lebron. Harden as a third seed has precedent, but history really favors Kawhi/Lebron.
