But even though it's normal to expect it, the same condition isn't written down for the soviet union. So maybe anyone could apply for it.

In Soviet Russia, President elect you!
Since the voting is private, it probably makes sense to cast your votes in the thread and then if the counts differ from the actual result, it could help narrow down who lied.

The competition is fierce! I can take a dive, but you'll have to make it worth my while.

I think that's too complex especially with this amount of players. Also really only viable if you know the presidents alignments right after the election.

I don't understand why that is complex

Not really though. Say two people pledge their vote to grack.
Then we find out grack received 1 vote. We'd essentially know that 1 out of 2 players was lying at that point. It doesn't matter what gracks alignment is.
Plus it's not like people aren't going to share who they want to elect as mayor. Shouldn't be too hard to keep track. We don't have lynches so that's really the only alignment indicative thing we've got.

Gracks alignment would tell us why they lied (so it's relevant imo), and then both of them are going to say that they told the truth. Also they would need a reason to lie in before hand and that reason is hidden within the candidates alignments or the voters win conditions.

I quickly read the OP. Is it true that there are no lynches?
