Also as a GSL finalist, i think he should be given the benefit of the doubt that hes got the skill to be here. I mean this was a zerg that was good before the queen patch, surely that has to count for something.
I mean, he definitely has skill, I don't think anybody's really doubting that, but let's take a look at his bracket.
In the Qualifiers he faced - SGW - Hush So, not a really tough matchup (though to be fair a lot of players' brackets were easy)
Code A - Choya One of the easiest matchups possible (I mean, no disrespect to Choya, but....he wouldn't win GSL)
Code S - Wins 2-1 over aLive, and aLive had been doing well, and this definitely was a bit of a surprise, but I still wouldn't put him at like top tier. Then in Code S Ro16 - Wins over Curious - Wins over Dark Definitely good job for beating curious and dark, but beating dark was really the big surprise, as curious had not been doing that well up to that point in time.
So, I think to say that he got the easiest bracket is definitely true in that he had to face one less match than everyone else, and he also had to face choya in Code A. Maybe saying he got a lucky bracket may be a bit unfair, but it was by far the easiest.

lemme sum up my infrequent correspondence with TaeJa

Honestly Zest seems like he is even more invincible then he was in 2014. His play has been disgustingly good. No doubt the best player in the world right now.

I hope there will be some epic late game.

Sick, I can actually watch this live

Zest likely to 3:0 Taeja, but I really want to see this match go to game 5.

Don't count Taeja out, even though Zest is literally looking god-like right now. One last run for Taeja. Pray for a TvT finals. Incidentally, MMA got eliminated by someone with a 90+% PvT winrate back then.

But I guess Zests record isn't too shabby either. At least Zest's record is vs progamers Not gonna argue about their looks, anybody knows Zest beats Bisu there too KT best KT PS: Yes i rather discuss Bisu in this thread then Taeja, Taeja won't be relevant anymore after Zest is done with him I'm confused, how was Bisu not playing progamers? The stats I refer to are from the top tournaments of Brood War. Unless you think because kespa isn't involved in SC1, then players can't be considered pro. If that's the case, then most of WoL doesn't count and MVP is now only the best amateur gamer.

Taeja did a wonderful job, one of the greatest mental games during group selections, possibly of all time.
But there's no way he will take a game off Zest

Holy moly i'm siked for the gsl tonight

I hope for close series and a Taeja victory, but odds are not in his favor.

Hoping against hope that Taeja can do a Taeja again. Zest is a monster though.

Afreeca vods are all here. Unfortunately, they don't bother to separate vods into separate set by set videos like GOM used to, so you'll have to figure out which Day / Group you're interested and scroll through yourself
