Hi, I'm Melee map maker Herb from Korea. Sorry, My English is not very good. So I'll say short.
This map is 3v3 Teamplay Map. (2v2 is possible) It is divided into three ground.

It is relatively simple in 3v3 case. but, 2v2 case is so confused.

I'm surprised you didn't mention 2v2v2 in your post.
Also, how many minerals are the walls? Can the mineral walls be reached with Siege Tanks from the high ground?

Cuz random starting location, 2v2v2 is very unfair. So I didn't mention. Mineral walls is composed of 999*6. The last question is not understood. Probably it will be possible.

999 is a lot! More than I expected.
By the last question, I meant can a Tank on the middle platform reach the mineral wall?

It is impossible. A central resource disturbed only. And 999 minerals is suitable. Otherwise, the wall is torn down too easily.

That reminds me of the 2 vs 2 vs 2 vs 2 games the people played in WarCraft II, on the map "Friends".

Nice to see all the good old Korean map makers publish some maps again, even though this one is another old one (it's been on BWMN for some years or so...).
I would say this is really a a 3v3 map. 2v2 will have really imbalanced spawns in some cases (statistically 2 out of 9 games), where one team has to share a section whereas the other team has players spawn alone on each of the other ones.
The walkable doodads should be removed from the high basilica platforms, due to being terrain level bugged.
999 is a weird amount to set mineral to O_o...

There is a port of that called something like "Friends in Space '98" on the vanilla map pack, that was a fun map back in the day when no one knew any better ^^

I thought so too at first, but then as I theorycrafted more about it, I realized that if there was some sort of fast-expand to those minerals then if there was a significantly lower mineral count then it would be quickly broken, and if it was significantly higher then it would be treated as a normal wall for the majority of the game, creating an island map scenario. Would it be completely wrong to make it 888? I don't think so, that's a change that would have to happen after extensive testing. However, as is, I think this a decent starting point for map testing, in my novice experience.

I didn't know that. It's not what I posted. The map was produced in 2009, it was uploaded to time Intothemap. And it seems others have posted there. But now this map is the latest version.

In theory, a multiple of 8 would be cleanest, so 8 x125 certainly makes sense. Maybe it's psychological, like how 99 cent things are really a dollar but marketed as under a dollar?
