Dunno why you don't like Travis as he has no real charisma, thinks everything's gonna be alright, try to talk to everyone all the time and... is basicly Rick from the first 2 seasons of Walking dead lol. As for the names you don't remember, did you remember all the names of the characters in the season 1 of walking dead ? Like the 2 blond girls ? Carol's husband ? You can't forget the name of her daughter since it's said 50times per S2 episodes. You didn't call Dale "the old guy" ? and Glenn "The asian" ? (at least at first). Or did you NOT call Lori "THE ULTIMATE BITCH THAT I WANT TO SLAP EVERY SECONDS OF MY FUCKING LIFE BECAUSE ALL IS HAPPENING BECAUSE OF HER AND SHE PLAYS THE VICTIMS". + Show Spoiler [Because it's not a TWD thread so…] + Because i sure did until the last second. (i litterally jumped of happiness when she dies lol) Problem of the walking dead. Too much characters so you going to remember them by their traits. It's even worse in the comics :p Didn't get your "rich" reference ? It's probably going to be much better from here out, I can agree there. Rick was a cop and all about confronting issues, whereas Travis seems to be happy to let things go how they will go and not really control his family's destiny.
Daryl, Merle, Glenn, Rick, and Carl I was pretty quick to remember easily. When he was around I knew Rick's partner's name but that was so many episodes ago I've already forgotten (was happy to see him die as well). The S2 new cast was really tough to remember admittedly, since everything seemed to drag for the duration. I thought Lori's character was pretty well acted, she was definitely conflicted and while she might have held up better if the world hadn't gone to shit it wasn't all that challenging to understand her perspective. I can agree that it's a lot easier to remember people by their traits, like the guy who drove the RV, can't remember his name either, or the woman who decided to stay in the final ep of S1.
Eating the rich was just my way of referencing the new guy in the cell with drug kid. He seems to have his head on his shoulders and some sort of plan. That and Travis' other son and daughter trashing the rich folks' house.
TBH I can remember more of what has happened in these first episodes of FTWD because there have been so few critical plot points that increased the drama and hype, which after binge-ing on TWD feels painfully slow. TWD everything seemed like a fight or flight response and the adrenaline was much more present. It's just affecting my enjoyment of this show. If this had come first I'd probably feel differently.

Yeah i agree with you. It's a really bad start to a maybe cool and nice ending. The fact that TWD was really slow (especially that goddamn S2) was kind of Ok because it was new. And the S3,4,5 was so much better. It's affecting how we see FTWD.
Maybe they can't do otherwise (but i feal that it all comes down to the stupid reactions and decisions of the characters in FTWD that are nonsense in the first episodes).
Oh well. We'll see if the final episode makes it for the bad start. Especially since TWD restarts just in 2 weeks.

Kinda disappointing that they don't go into the breakdown of civilisation in better detail. It's kinda just "Annnnd the world goes to shit." I still wonder how a war machine like the US could be brought down by slow zombies.

It wouldn't, which is why they're not showing it

When a full stadium of people come at you, i doubt you can block them with a few soldier with riffle since they won't flee when you fire, they will come closer each time you reload.
And it's not like the USA isn't big. So it would be a lot of area touched. It would grow a lot, make certain towns ghost town and the dead don't sleep, don't eat. If a lot of people die you don't have a lot of food anymore since rural town would surely be more touched etc... so no crops cultivation etc... Poor country would have a lot of trouble containing those deads. You have to take in consideration that it would happen to the whole world. Exportation would die, petrol won't be found since a lot of people would die. It's kind of snowball effect.
I know USA have petrol and food but is USA self sufficient in all of those domains ?
It would be quite slow though. My argument is kind of week but i don't have the english today to explain all of that

Realistically the government would have tanks and incredibly modern weapons, not 1700s era "shoot once and reload stuff"
I could see them running out of food eventually, but stuff like in TWD where you see tanks overrun make no sense to me. How does that happen?

I don't really know how much of time you have with the fuel of a Tank. But when you can't move and can't get out. You won't last very very long.
I felt your question was "regardless" of the walking dead.

eh... 6/10 season finale.
|
I'm not sure I'd even give it a 6, honestly. This might be the most dissapointed I've been in a series since Fringe final season or heroes after season 1. Bleh.
|
What a bad finale, well it went like the whole series so far.

Anyone else notice the soldiers killed like, nothing? A small group of them opening fire into the walkers, and none of them even got hit. There should have been a wall of bodies piled in front of the gate with all the ammo they used.
But yeah, pretty underwhelming finale. Given this group already knows everything that took about 4-5 seasons for our current group to know (though I figured that would happen), we're pretty much at point where this is just "that other walking dead show".
Society has already collapsed. That was the only real pull to this show. Though people will likely watch it anyway, cause it's another zombie show lol.

Worse it sounds like Season 2 will be on a boat... yes a boat.

This show's premise really had potential. Unfortunately it turned out to be ass shit.

Overall, I liked the show. Episode 4 was kinda meh. I liked the finale, minus the special effects and how the horde got to the base. I think my favorite thing about the show is Strand's character. He's a bit outlandish and cartoony in the way he speaks, but there's something about the character and the way that it's played that piques my interest.

They didn't tell us what happened to the chubby kid :c. Maybe he'll come back a few seasons later and kick everyone's ass with a staff.

Yeeah the "firing scene" was weird. No pile of bodies.
Underwelming final. But it looks like it was made to have an ending (in case no renew of season). Oh well. It was a "nice" waiting for Walking dead next week.
5/10 final. I dunno. I didn't find anything i like in the characters for now. Maybe Strand but.... well he is not one of the main character (but will become if there is a season 2).
Emotional scene was.... really meh. But after seeing two really good break down in TV shows (Debra in Dexter and Rick when the bitch finally dies) it was underwhelming.
I really don't know how to rate the show. It was really bad but at the same time there was something but i just can't point it out.

Could be a nice twist. Since a lot of post apocalyptic show/movie/game mention people that remained at see but you never see that part (well... you can in "The last ship" but it's a meh show.) But i don't know how they can remain at sea at make it interesting for a whole season. Especially if they put up more episodes.
You never know. TWD S1 was good but not great. S2 was garbage and it only became really good at S3.

Those soldiers didnt have a single grenade, not a single truck or tank to put in the fence, they didnt kill more than 5 zombies, lol this chapter was horrible by all the standards, and the actors where meh, the sad part at the end was like wtf, almost made me laugh instead of feeling sorry for the girl, it seems that is very hard to do a good series without having a comic in the background to help. 1/10

holy cow this show sucks, lol !

This was pretty bad all around. Better Call Saul is how you make a proper spinoff.
