i really don't see a huge difference between muting and a modkill with no alignment flip?
either one gives scum more ammunition. with the muting they can either push a policy lynch or distract from it with the not alignment indicative he can't talk line...with the modkill without an alignment flip it's just denying town information...they can't even predict if it's mylo/lylo or not cause they can't be sure what alignment that player was
like i said i don't mind experimenting but lol i'm not really a fan of the idea

I think muting is better for the game and for town. But muting a player = modkilling a player. It should almost never be done except when the player in question is really going over the line.

i just don't agree. muting a player for an entire game forces town to have to deal with that slot in a complete absence of any further information
the 1-page filter for the next phase thing that was mentioned though might be okay? if you don't want to modkill but still plan on doing warnings/bans once the game ends that may be a good compromise

I just want to try it out and, like koshi said, it's only going to be in serious circumstances.
The reason I decided to change the modkill situation in the first place is because of how robik essentially gave town a double lynch in my last game since he was the main wagon before he exploded. Hapa and I talked about it that game and I decided I would try something different for my next game.
If the mute comes into play (I hope it doesn't) and causes a bigger impact one way or another than a normal modkill would have, I will never deviate from the standard modkill procedure again.
That being said, I understand if anyone wants to /out due to these changes to the normal rules.

/Out. all this talk of mod kills, kills my desire to participate. mods need to learn to butt out imo.

I got it and I knew that. That is why I was pointing out that you were changing a strategical modkill to another strategical modkill. I really don't care, most of the players here have good behaviour.
I just don't understand why DP got out for that

Dp this is just robik fall out, we know you won't get your ass back in

Ironic, given that FF's proposal actually decreases moderation's effect on a game.
I really dislike flip modkills because they're absurdly pro-town in the usual case: a tunneled townie rage-quitting, flipping town, and essentially giving town a double-lynch for the day. Muting a slot lessens the effect of a "modkill" on the game by avoiding these types of scenarios. It's an interesting solution, and I'm curious to see how it works.

Like anyone who has cohosted with me should know that I really hate modkiling people and will usually warn people for something other mods would kill for.
