The hype in the crowd section was crappy probs due to mic and camera setup
I think this AGDQ was way better than last years for me. Last years AGDQ was so boring for me. Nothing will top SGDQ 2013 though, literally watched every run from that one

But also some stuff felt forced... like responding to various donation comments was more because it was expected and not due to real hype. Need some new gimmicks and memes to spice that aspect up. The runs themselves were still great, love the event and the idea.
Such a good event. I was watching it on and off the entirety of last week, so many great moments. It was difficult to predict which runs would be mind-blowing, so it was useful to dip into everything. My favourites were Tetris, inFamous, Morrowind, Battletoads co-op.
Anything I might have missed that's a must-see in the VODS?

Runnerguy's blindfolded OOT run.
Can't agree with you more Emulator, that might be the most impressive thing I've ever seen done at a GDQ.

I felt the same way. In fact, I felt like this year turned more corporate and lost the feeling that previous events had. It felt less like a group of people coming together for charity and more like a bunch of businesses trying to make a quick buck.
The overlay was the best so far. Pretty good and had almost all the informations (the twitch channel of the runner is my only point). Corporationwise i found it okish...until theyetee has it let be announeced on the stream how much money they have made during the marathon. Which is their income, not the money they spend to the foundation. Thats just a part of it. At least thats how i understood the announcement. >.>
The runs were great but im not sure how much i like this idea of being the crowd most likely be friends. In the past GDQs there was more hype and party going on, with a crowd mixed with runners and spectators. I dont know.
But overall awesome and cant wait for SGDQ. :D
...and still have to watch Mario Sunshine and Zelda OoT 100%...the only ones i wanted to watch but was way too sleepy.
Im also still watching mario sunshine and OoT 100%. Almost done with OoT 100%. Such a good run, the number of tricks all the time and the difficulty is so impressive. ZFG is incredibly good.
My personal list of highlights/must-watch runs: TASBot Block Pt 1 Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II Battleblock Theater Super Castlevania IV I wanna be the Boshy Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels Kaizo Mario World Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Tetris: The Grandmaster exhibition Shovel Knight Mega Man X William Shatner's Tekwar Ninja Gaiden relay race Half-Life 2: Episode 2 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Vanquish Halo 2 Dark Souls 2 OoT Child Dungeons Blindfolded
This google calendar serves to track every speedrunning event (some good, some not so good). Most events don't have their date determined until a few months before. The next truly big event is probably Limit Break, the RPG marathon.

That was not the amount the yeti made, but rather the amount yeti had donated as a total to the marathon.
They made 6 donations for a total of $45,000 to the marathon.
