I don't like to rant but: You've probably heard it a million times already (mostly from me), but this shit is ridiculous. It's 20 dollar and what you get is:
- Mostly cut VODs for groups, but sometimes they also post just the raw, uncut VOD so you can look for the games you want to see yourself. And this is fun cause Twitch VODs are always so responsive......
- Some groups have their VODs cut for 3 of the matches, while the rest of the matches are in an uncut VOD.
- Late VODs: The soO vs Stats and Zest vs Rain matches were cut 4 hours ago. The matches were played 5 days ago.
- Bye bye spoilers
- Missing VODs (Winners Match of the Ro16 Group C Map 3 just isn't there)
- Nothing is highlighted on Twitch since Ro32 Group A from this is season, so I hope to god that GOM has downloaded all these unhighlighted VODs, or they'll be gone soon. (Although it seems that GOMs past broadcast VODs are all still there, which is weird cause Twitch said they'd remove them after 60 days)
GOM please, you had the best VOD system ever with GOMTV.net. Again, this is 20 dollar. As a comparison:
- SPOTV (Proleague) VODs are free on Youtube in 1080p
- ESL (WCS AM/EU, IEM) VODs are free on Youtube and on Twitch
- Red Bull VODs are free on Youtube and Twitch
- Dreamhack VODs are free on Youtube and Twitch
And all of these events do a better job at this.
This is not a rant pointed towards GOM's VOD guy/girl, but more towards GOM in general. Please get your shit together.

I agree. GOM needs to make some big changes next year.
Preferably backwards.

Wasnt there a thread that had links to specific games in gom vods?

yep, but OP is the one that puts all that together these days

Yeah, the new GOM VODs are so bad that I just stopped paying for them and decided that if I don't watch it live, I will miss it. I found I was paying $20 to be frustrated. I hate twitch VODs even when done well, and GOM is definitely not doing it well. Its a pain to miss some really great games, but GOM usually uploads their VODs to youtube eventually and I just make notes on the matches that I want to go back and watch after that happens.

Isn't there a GOM or GSL feedback thread somewhere?

gomtv.net had the best vod system OF ALL TIME

I really liked the VoD system, paid happily for a yearly ticket in 2012. I then renewed for 2013 before WCS and stuff was announced and it all went downhill. Just so sad.

Same opinion as others about GOM. I would also like to add that SPL is pretty awful too. It's confusing to find VODs I'm looking for and plenty of times they upload parts of VODs and then you gotta go hunting for the other half.
The most recent example I can think of is when I was watching Flash vs Super in Kespa cup and then the video stops at 28 minutes (about 5-6 mins in game), leaving me on a goosehunt for the other half, which I gave up looking for in like 14 seconds. Here is the link for whom are subbed. http://www.twitch.tv/sc2proleague/b/568058255
Not sure if SPOTTV had someone doing the uploading and then they were cut, and some other guy is just picking up the slack?I don't know. I didn't resub after march until September, and now I regret subbing.
TBH, if this was a retail store selling something, I would have returned the product and asked for my money back.

The SPL VODS are at least easy to find and available quickly in 1080p on youtube. GOM is just bleh TT

It's such a shame. I swear I'd do all the work required to fix this mess for free. No joking. I have no idea how Twitch's VOD system works but I'd put all the time/effort required to learn. If someone at GOM or SPOTV is reading this you can just hire me for free and I'll do it. For esports!

I dunno if GomTV.net was the best EVER, as I recall they had all these unavoidable dopey commercials at the beginning of each vod, and there were some spoiler issues, but overall it certainly was very good and definitely better than what they're doing now. Other thing I didn't particularly like was having to download an entirely new player just to watch the stream, and sometimes it was a little wonky in terms of speed but again it was on the whole pretty good.
The things I REALLY miss are the extra programming they did (if they still do this stuff and I'm just not looking in the right place please let me know), stuff like Team House Attack, Project A, the minigames/trivia with the casters, the pro player interview and challenges (win a game vs a viewer while wearing oven mitts/while eating ramen/only using the mouse, etc.)
Sorry for the off-topic nostalgia >_>

Agreed, I shouldn't have to use a third party just to make the vods watchable.

You guys forgot a point. I bought a season ticket for the first time in a long time, for season 3. And apparently I can't even watch the vods of the finals. ..on the day that the finals were played.
Apparently with the season ticket you aren't buying the access to the vods of the 3rd season, rather purchasing the use of the vods for a time.
Unfortunately they placed the start and stop times in such a way you dont actually gain access on the first or last day.
If this were math class, and dates were (x) values. Gom did this (Aug 1st, Oct 4th) rather than this [Aug 1st, Oct 4th]. + Show Spoiler + I don't actually know if Aug 1st was the start of the season but you get the point I just don't have the time to watch the live like i use to back a few years ago, it's a shame the vod system has regressed so drastically.
