Highlights: + Show Spoiler + Nitto playing so fucking patient and stealing the round off of Dan KO's Ken being so lol. Pierre completely blowing with SA3 but able to steal the game from Nitto (who played so clutch and almost came away with the win). Pierre's no Roshihikari with fancy SA3 combos, but his yang gets the job done. Ridiculously close 3rd place match between KO and Nitto. Pierre getting owned in the finals, lol.

Also, yes I would like to play via Kaillera . My friend Sneaks here in UW lent me one of his big joysticks to use ^^. I was practicing earlier on Friday, trying to pull off Makoto's 100% stun combo on Alex. I got it only twice after about 2 hours of practice T_T. I've also learned how to do the max damage + high stun combo, though unreliably: abare, dash, mp.fukiage, super jump cancel straight-up, immediate mk.tsurugi (usually people do a fierce here instead, which trades a little damage for a little stun). Also, Akuma is reeeaaaalllly easy to stun off of an abare combo: you just do dash, mp.fukiage, cr.roundhouse (very easy to hit).

1. it resets damage scaling, and 2. he can attempt another unblockable or tricky mix-up on their wake-up.

And because a lot of characters differ in physical properties after being hit, you need to know different sequences for different opponents, at different points in the stage. What separates a top level yun from a scrub yun is how they deal with the nonstandard genei situations and how much of the "little stuff" they execute beautifully, as well as how optimal their combo sequences are. Pyrolee is a very good yun but I've always noticed that his genei sequences are far from optimal.

Anyway, while Yun only has "Juggle and shit", its not really easy to use and pressure with it. Like what haji said. you're not going to GJ off a target combo everytime so you use it when you're free and pressure them to open up or to grab them. Getting your opponent open to your attack take a lot more skill than whatever combo you can do.

Without questioning the skill involved, i always cheer for the "lesser" character. Loved that Yang beat Yun there, but also that Chun Li crushed Ken clearly showing it was the better player. Didn't cared to watch Yun vs Yun, but the rest were nice, thanks :D

There are just some crazy Chuns out like Nuki and Tokido that make Chun seem like it's a Tier 0. o.O Those 4 characters all belong to tier 1 but I do believe that Chun is a little bit better than Yun, Ken, and Makoto. I would have to say Ken and Makoto are the two funnest characters to play with in 3rd strike though. I would add Yun for myself but I just never took the time to learn how to play Yun properly. Chun is my nazi character but she's pretty dang boring to play with.

It's just that generally when you see a lower tier player vs a higher tier the lower one seems to play better/smarter.

Then there are certain characters out there where winning like 40 games in a row is quite difficult, but are extremely dangerous in a do or die tournament situation, like Makoto or Dudley. Esp Makoto, the most feared character in tournaments.

IIRC In the last matchup list that the japs released Yun has no bad matchups and I think draws even with ken, Chun's bad match-up is only yun (not by much) and Ken's bad matchup is chun. Again, that's IIRC >_>
