Cool stuff! I'm excited to see what japanese scene can bring
|
So, Yu-Gi-Oh anime format? >_>
|
This is a pretty good concept, as well as the Meltdown in Paris, glad to see SC2 developpement in the world.

Starcraft Duelist Kingdom gogogo

How very Japanese, it's a common anime trope i think. Here's my favorite, it's from Kaiji, an anime where debtors were brought together by mafia and made to gamble their debts in different crazy games, offering their lives as the final wager should they go bust. The star betting game was a major story arc there too.

This format is actually really exciting to me for SC2. I mean, it would be incredibly hard to cover coherently, it'd be mostly random. Then again, would it be that different from an open bracket for the broadcaster to operate? I think it's way more exciting than a standard open bracket. Then I think about what could happen with an invitational format... an All-Star series, you could say.
Henceforth, i'll call this format Survival City, I suppose.

How does one obtain a Square Card? At the event or prior?

Holy wow, it really is Duelist Kingdom. I expect some shenanigan stories about rules made up completely on the spot, such as loading a baneling into a spore crawler, firing it at the mothership and have it come crashing down destroying the entire army and wiping out all the enemy's life points!

sickest yu-gi-oh reference ever.
Duelist Kingdom SC2 sounds awesome, so many cool stories can from it.

If i lose will i get sent to the Shadow Realm? Also ban exodia please, it's completely BS to have 3 Blue eyes on the field and then u get wiped in one turn by an I WIN card
Also, this sounds like a sick idea for an sc2 tourney

Oh nice... I might make it to this one...
|
Oh this sounds absoloutely awesome!

I hope you guys are wildly successful, so you'd make another one in future because I don't think I can make it to this one.

I think there's a link to the stream on the eSports Square thread, the one introducing the Akihabara centre. I'll see if I can dig it up. Good to hear of the SC2 scene in Japan. They were pretty quiet early on.

At the event. When you enter "e-Sports SQUARE AKIHABARA" for 1st time, you're going to create a SQUARE CARD.

I think they will do stream during the event in some way but for now I couldn't find any links on their announcement.
