It's awesome! Updated as in shallow copy? Or does it really have the depth that df has, it only looks to be beta as of now..

Updated Graphics and it's still in dev beta. Guy is 100% ripping off Dwarf Fortress, not gonna lie.

Climbing enemies.... *shudder*
I've been playing around with the Masterwork Dwarf Fortress mod while waiting for the next big release. It's pretty good; really good, actually. Hopefully we can get another succession project going on TL when the next release is out.

I'd be up for another succession game. I think the last one was rather difficult to start considering we were trying to begin in an Eerie biome. Crows kept coming in and poking out our dwarves's eyes.
I think I tried solo and I ended up dying to a legendary piece of necromantic skin.

There will prolly be some big bug fixes right after the new release so waiting a month or two would prolly be a good idea.

Considering it's the first big release in 2 years I'm expecting it to take a long time for all the fixes. Then another long time for DFhack and buddies to update and then an even longer time for Masterwork to catch up.

I've just started playing DF recently, had a few good forts and a bunch of terrible ones.
My current fort is a little over a year old. I just got the first non-hardcoded migrant wave. As I was perusing the newcomers, I notice a farmer in a bedroom blinking like he's been wounded.
I check his health, and he's missing his left leg. I check the Therapist, and he's one of the new guys, who showed up just a few minutes ago. I check the combat reports, nothing. I check his kills, he has 66. Mostly animals/animal people, but also a Giant Desert Scorpion. I think he might be a vampire, so I check his skills. They suck, his highest combat skill is proficient hammer user.
Is this just the luckiest regular dwarf ever?

Actually, he's probably gonna just die of thirst in that room, I've never had good luck with infirm dwarves.

So i just finished my big above ground fort(no walling in) for Masterwork + Show Spoiler +well, let's say it got finished + Show Spoiler +by breaking HFS, after nothing MWDF culd throw at me with the normal races even stood the slightest chance... Somehow I'm sad it is gone But at the other hand I now have time for a new project... ^^
For those caring to read it: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=134854.0 op is not updated, but most posts are by me, so it is easy to just scroll through it even without quicklinks to the posts

I'd be down for a DF 2014 succession as well.
Toady's devblog suggests that he will probably end adding new features within the next month ("The list of feature items that is left is about half as long as it was ten days ago. "), and then will begin focusing on fixing known serious bugs. Could this mean a release before summer? Only time will tell!

Maybe we should do a Masterwork Succession game? Some interesting stuff in Masterwork.
|
I'd be willing to play but I have never played masterwork before. Could make for a FUN learning experience.
Start a thread?

Nice! I'm still not confident enough to take part in a succession fortress but I'll be sure to follow the progress :D

Playing MW succession without the people involved being into the mod seems like a bad idea. :3
It's the most awesome DF out there tho. Necros ftw.

DF 2014 IS COMING
I've said it once and I'll say it again: let's do a succession! The new jumping mechanic promises to be very !fun!
|
I'd be up to do a succession fort, but it couldn't be too challenging of an embark, I'm still kinda a chump. Never done anything with hidden fun stuff or evil biomes. I'm pretty good at the common stuff though like goblins, semi-mega beasts, and construction.
I'd also like to add that my current fort has a funny problem. I built a well with an automatically refilling cistern. Well I screwed up the pressure plate somehow in the cistern, and the thing started to overflow. I barely sealed off the well room in time. Now I have to wait till winter for the river to freeze so I can drain the cistern. But in the mean time, that bug where water spreads blood instead of washing it away is filling my well room with blood.
