I don't know, my PC is on the low end and it it's WinXP, but still it shouldn't be that bad. My network is really good and it really should not cause problems or even deaths. Maybe it's the one server, but i am scared to change it cause i am sure my char will be accidentally wiped by it.
Yesterday i was bravely roaming the airstrip and suddenly the game crashes. No biggie, happens all the time. I start it again and the screen says You are dead. Imaginary Keyboards get thrown against walls. Some hours later, i want to give it anoher try, and my character is alive and on the same spot i disconnected at. Alpha
Oh by the way, are the military tents bugged at the moment? I heard they are the primary source of ammo, but they were completely deserted lat time i checked.

Keep in mind that there are "hardcore" servers that are kind of semi private hives. If you play on regular servers though, your character will be saved and you'll have it back every time you log on a regular server. If you log on a hardcore server by mistake, it'll create a new one for this server but still keep your regular character. So yeah definitely try switching servers, you can't lose your character by switching servers. And yeah the military tents are bugged, they'll put the loot back in the next patch I think.

Am i the only one who doesnt like all of the new over-complicated medical conditions?
I dont like what they have done to blood bags/sickness at all they have completely overcomplicated a perfectly acceptable system imo...
Soon we will have constant diarrhea in game where every 50 yards our toon stop, takes off his pants and sits/stands in place for 5-10 mins at a time... and only yellow pills with black letters will fix it...
Im being sarcastic on the last one but still... idk really dont like the overcomplicating of the medical stuff.

Just spent 2 hours going to airport behind Chernogorsk. I finally found a mosin. Got there, looting when i hear reloading. I try to take out my magnum with speedloader. Nope. More sounds. No desync picture but game ignores my tries to pull out anything. Suddenly lag I am dead and two people are already looting my corpse. Sigh

I like it. Its incredibly rare to get sick, the usual problems comes from getting shot or similar. For that there's only a handful of very normal dropping items that you need. And even if you plan on keeping a cure for absolutely everything in the game, its only 10 items still. The only complicated things with sicknesses right now is that unless you read up on it, you don't know exactly what cures what, or even what kind of sickness you're suppose to be having (for example, how are you suppose to know you need to clean your wounds from having a blurry screen?)

Nooooooooo the new magnum sound sucks dicks new mosin is cool though The restriction about server hopping is pretty terrible too, as as of now you are kind of forced to do it if you don't want to die from hunger (you can never know if cities have been looted on the server you join, if they did, you'll probably die before reaching a city that has food..). So as long as there isn't respawning loot, I guess they should remove it..

Right now, don't play on servers that have near 40 people on it. Its near unplayable. The "taking forever to find an item you drop", "can't use anything on my hotkeys without spending 5 minutes fumbling", the warping back and fourth and dying when no one is around is all because of the servers not being able to handle the amount of players. (last one is because you desync on the server, and the server for some reason seem to think you need to be walking forward. When walking while lagged like this, you can still get shot and die even though you on your own screen are somewhere else completely. Whenever you see someone glide across your screen and walk through walls, this is whats happening)
I've found 20-30 is a good amount of people on there while still keeping it somewhat lag free.

I haven't needed to server hop once to survive. You can get through 3-4 villages without dying of hunger if you know where to look.. That said I completely understand that most newer players don't.
I'd much rather just have new players spawn with a full stomach. Starting thirsty and almost hungry is a tad too much for most new players who don't know what to do. Then again, I don't think this alpha is at all aimed at people who haven't played the mod yet.
I think I've died once of hunger, and thats when I decided that I could probably reach the northwest airfield on only a single can of tuna..I didn't..

I just had the biggest facepalm moment ever. Like EVER!
Me and two friends were running around Cherno. We decided a server with night fitted us well, cause both of them were completely new and didnÄt want to run into people. After some time, we left inner cherno and went to the jail building in the village nearby. Everyone is happy with loot suddenly i hear shots, my friend claims he is dead. The other one was in the lower room, me was in the higher one. After about a minute of panicking, we realize they are gonna storm the building, we are shooting like maniacs but i don't hit shit, partially cause my pc is crap and fps are between 10 and 15, partially cause i suck. Nobody apparently gets hit. then i move a little out of cover on the stairs an get hit badly, screen gets blurry but they don't force their way in and i can bandage my self. So i drop a a saline IV on the floor, covering the entrance in the hopes of my last friend giving me the health injection. He tries and get's shot through the rear window. So, i don't see shit, have around 40 ammo left and face at least 2 experienced people. Manage to get upstairs and wait at the stairs for them to come in. 15 minutes nothing happens. Then, apparently, someone leaves the server so they think i am gone and one of them pushes in and gets shot. The other is waiting outside. I manage to eat and drink myself to healing and wait. still got 23 bullets and they can't get close enough to see where i am, so i can hold this pretty long...
Then, there are suddenly two there, either hey called someone in or the other guy had the closest respawn ever. they get closer cause again, they hadn't heard from me and probably thought i left. So i think, get out, take a fast shot at them and cover up again. Brilliant idea on its own.
I get out of cover. And shoot. And then realize that i have a bag of rice in my hand. Then i die.

Thing is the server had around 24 people. Altough thats probably highest number of people I have seen there on the same time. Usually its around 10-15 which i find quite comfortable since I am new to the game. Anyways I thought i will be safe on my favorite server but I guess it got overcrowded.
