Altough the Gura Gura no mi did also posses that ability as a side effect of causing quakes underwater, but it was volatile and hard to control. I always wondered how WB planned to save Ace from drowning, Had Kuzan not stopped his Tsunamis in the begining of the Marineford War. The guy would have been stuck underwater chained to Seastone wich noone seems to be able to be able to break, especially not devil fruit users... It's called: Plot No Jutsu Its ACTUALLY called: being bored and dwelling on trivial subjects cause your brain has nothing better to do. Its usualy what goes on in this thread except for the 2 days following a new chapter release. Some people even like to argue with the plot and contradict established OP facts because its possible. Thats usualy pretty good read too. Almost certainly better than the Thriller Bark arc to name an example that we can all relate to.
On a serious note, i always did feel like TB was a waste of time and that Moria could have been written out of the story. Like, from the time we first meet him its established that the WG dont really think he can handle the SHs so they send Kuma to help. Not the most intimidating introduction for a main arc villain. Then he gets beaten by luffy, acts like a clown during marineford and is put down by jinbe, and finally doflamingo laughts at her weakness and manhandles her for the WG because even they were so ashamed of him that they want him out of the series. He didnt even look like he fitted in the manga to me. Like why did he look like a 10feet obese vampire monster? was it because of his DF or was he born that way?

I think Mythical Zoans > Logia except Go D. Enels fruit Goro Goro no Mi
Marco and Sengoku too lucky for having Mythical Zoan :3
|
Well there is always the possibility of ending up as an awkward Mythological Creature i guess. Like like a Hobbit or a Fairy or something like that. How about a leprechaun?.
A Djinn/Genie would be pretty cool though. It would be kinda like a Magic - Logia :D

imagine a mermaid fruit lol. they are technically mythological creatures.

Useless fruit joke has been done with Pierre already, bird turning into ridiculous looking Pegasus :p

i thought pierre was totally awesome, and then i saw him in a coloured picture and realized that he was pink. Then i thought he was even more awesome, i remember getting those OP-style bright stars in my eyes (like luffy when he sees something cool) and being completley stuck in awe, staring at the picture with tears running down my neck; whispering "Thank you oda..." over and over to myself.
Pierre Badass. Alec Baldwin-level badass.

Mythological zoan fruits would very likely not be useless whatever form they took, as both so far has had powers on par or better than logias. Mythical Zoans are awesome because first of all, like all Zoan Classes they multiply the consumers basic strenght and combat level as a passive bonus. Secondly they have shown to offer a more complete and indepth control of transformation (Marcos ability to transform separate bodyparts such as his arms into his animal form).
And third, they have shown to give the user a super powerful and unique ability on par with high-end paramecias, like marcos overpowered healing ability that contrary to logia regeneration actually heals his physical body, even when struck by haki or if he is under the effect of seastone. Logia users cannot use their DFs to repair damage dealt to their physical body, its crucial for them to transform before being attacked, wich even if they learn to do by reflex; is still vulerable to haki and elemental weaknesses to other logias.
Marco didnt even recieve a scratch from Akainus magma fist, the attack that killed Ace and pierced through whitebeard. His wierd blue phoenix fire was also capable of blocking akainus magma from reaching luffy.
Yeah mythical zoans are pretty OP. Imagine if someone with Garps raw strenght and basic combat ferocity ate the phoenix fruit. he would be invincible.

Discussion on devil fruits gets this thread more posts than a new chapter does.

If Kaido doesn't have a legendary Zoan: Chimera fruit I am going to be extraordinarily disappointed.
Devil Fruit discussions are fun. :D
EDIT: Incidentally if anyone has any interesting theories about WTF Big Mom's potential Devil Fruit deal might be I'm interested.

Regarding the mizu mizu no mi, I remember the One piece movie (i think it was the 2nd ?) with the female villain having the that particular fruit. She was trapped in a glass by Nami in the end. The main villain was with the devil fruit of Steel that can become molten.

I like the mythical zoan theory regarding Kaido. It seems plausible one of the yonkou would have the 3rd such shown fruit. Chimera sounds beastly enough.

She had an unknown liquid df so even if it were canon a water df or other liquid would still be possible. There have been df that overlapped the youth df from the Z movie is 'canon' and is similar to Boney's df. Then we have Caesar who can manipulate many gases making Smoker's df seem silly.

EDIT: Incidentally if anyone has any interesting theories about WTF Big Mom's potential Devil Fruit deal might be I'm interested. I like to imagine her as a giant Kogmaw (from league of legends). Like she just has this crazy corrosive spit that she can shoot and her giant mouth enhances this ability. I can just picture her shooting a giant loogie at a marine battleship and just utterly melt everyone on board. She could even use her tongue as a weapon, combining physical and acid damage into a powerful strike. If she doesn't have something as stupidly awesome as that, I'll be very disappointed.
edit:

Interpret it how you wish but it's pretty easy to write around any seemingly holes in logic when the weakness is 100% fictional to begin with. Wait that's actually kind of interesting. I think I've been looking at the situation all wrong. What if the sea was somehow altered to reject devil fruit magic by either the ancient civilization or the world government? Perhaps one side heavily relied on fruits in their fighting force and the other did this crazy thing and made the ocean toxic to anyone with powers, making it significantly more difficult for the other to fight?

I'd be willing to bet that Big Mam doesn't even have a devil fruit. Wapol already got the munchy munchy no mi.

But I am pretty sure the movie and filler makers ask Oda beforehand if they are allowed to create such a fruit, no?
So any filler/movie fruit will never appear in the manga.

I am pretty sure that what you are saying is false. At some point Lufft and Brook is seen in bathtubs being weakended, merely by having most of their bodies submerged in water. Also Moriahs DF was neglected by feeding salt to his shadows.
