I'm pretty mad/sad atm. I was hoping to be posting this in a cheerful atmosphere of fellow BW regulars excited for everything that's coming for BW in 2014, but instead we got some bad news regarding the sponsorship of SSL9, i.e. the sponsor backing out and Sonic having to do it himself. SSL9 is still happening but.. it sucks seeing someone like Sonic getting screwed over like this. More than celebrating the tesco appreciation holidays or failing at being funny with posts I feel like kicking some baby gorillas. Welp, this was done so I'll just leave this here as a blog and let people find it by chance as they browse blogs or later whenever I polish the content enough to add it to the proper thread.
While Sonic, Kim Carry and others are busy with
Ever since one of our anonymous testers dropped to E on iCCup (even though he could spam up to 60 APM), we knew something was fundamentally wrong with this game. Our data and research, available on our homepage, supported our original beliefs that the Terran race was underpowered and needed a balance boost.
Years of StarCraft's evolution have shown that a game cannot be balanced by its players but needs to be artificially patched at least monthly to create room for improvisation, invention as well as integrity. Some of our initial ideas included nukes for marines or burrowable turrets, but ultimately we recognized we need to go much deeper than that.
The work began on a lonely evening in early September. At the preparation stages most of our time went into securing resources and doing complex market research on hockey cards. Our dedication reached a new level when...
Mong agreed to be the first beta tester for our secret project!
With no prior exposure to our content, Mong was the ideal candidate. We welcomed the Terran player in Prague in November as StratosTV payed for his taxi to the airport and 2 hours of hotel stay.
Mong's reaction after he was informed that the beta stage starts on Christmas Eve.
Borrowing the wisdom of our devoted predecessors we made sure not to release any announcements that would repeatedly state something which wouldn't be true. Instead, we didn't release anything at all until we were certain we had collected all the cards we needed. Then we traded all the hockey cards for beer and after a few hours of drunken work we are excited to finally present our

- add the .rar to your /sound folder and "extract here", if there is no /sound folder in your root StarCraft folder, add it manually.
- the result should go like .../StarCraft/sound/terran/<13 unit folders>, this will overwrite the original files
That's not all either. All that's missing is battlecruisers atm afaik. Most of the voice clips come from Sudden Attack, Korean version of Counter-Strike which causes some issues. The sound recordings are mostly restricted to a limited set of commands so although there's a ton of kpop stars recording this mostly it's all the same commands over and over. Think Counter-Strike radio commands voice skins except exactly like that. Also not all of these clips are easy to come by.
It will also be be painfully obvious that I have no experience with audio editing and no proper tools either. All I did was copy the recordings + download sound effects for tanks, engines, space ships, radios, flamethrowers etc. from youtube + sound accessible effects from the original starcraft quotes and try to stitch it all together.
Furthermore, there might be an occasional overlap of voice recordings, or some misplaced ones, audio levels off a bit at some points. Think of this as a beta version, I will be upgrading it some time in the future... maybe...
What I could make use of would be any other similar games that has kpop celebrities doing voice overs. For example some of IU's clips come from Aion (MMO). If you know of anything like that let me know plz. For the meantime...

This would be my gift to the thousands of kpop loving TL BW users out there. I may not know most of you guys but noone will ever take this moment away from us.
