He's the only player who has legitimately dominated the sc2 scene for a significant period of time. We've had too many INnoVations who look invincible for a few months and then fall out of the picture. I really have to agree. Mvp was the only one that was dominate throughout the game. MC might be able to match him, but he was never dominant for an extended period in Korea. Nestea was to Jaedong as Mvp is to Flash. I can't count how many Innovations we've had: Seed, Sniper, jjakji, etc.

Then he did poorly in WCS Season 2 Finals and WCS KR Season 3. That's when he switched teams as well. Maybe leaving SouL was his downfall, but maybe he just had a rough transition. After Blizzcon, we will know.

Also - read one post saying that MVP seems to have become the opposite of Bomber.. well --> WP sir, WP.. Bad that he has to play against JD in the first round, so excited, but so sad as well.. :/ I really think that the tourney should start with a 4x4 group-play.. MVP was never the "favourite type of players" for me, it's more like respect rather than fandom to him.. Partially cause of me being fan to JD, and partially cause the style of MVP is pretty gimmicky.. The guy's like playing some sort of Protoss, only that he's doing it with Terran units.. Still --> very good writeup indeed..

After Blizzcon, we will know. He was consistent for all of Season 1 and maybe for a very short period before that. That's not 10 months. I agree with most of what you said, though, at least about those players not being "INnoVations". The only other players to be consistent for 3-4 months would be Life, Taeja (sort of) and maybe DRG/MKP in early 2012. Mvp was consistently inbeatable for a period of time at the end of 2011 on top of remaining a Championship contender for periods in both 2012 and 2013, the only player to manage such a feat.

Inno's consistency starts from very GSL Season 4 of 2012. When he destroyed Code A, and proceeded all the way to semis of GSL 2012 S5. After that, aside from IPL5, WCS S2 and WCS KR S3 he got at least Ro8 in every tournament he was in. Soulkey is about as consistent, but has much worse perfomances in large brackets. Mvp is the king though, noone has a right to deny that in SC2's case.

Even the Korean casters mentioned that nobody wanted to face him because they knew they would lose as they did on ladder. Yeah, Mvp in Jan 2011 was more dominatingly epic than Inno ever was.
