What is this? Welcome to the D Ranks Team League Season 5!
This is a for fun team league for players in the D ranks. The aim is to provide a team for new/lower level players to practice with. Hopefully, this will achieve two things: Interest more people in Brood War, and help you get better at it. While having fun!
When? The league starts on August 24 2013 @ 18:00 GMT (+00:00) and takes place every Saturday following that. It will have a regular season of 10 weeks with the top 4 teams advancing to the playoffs.
Where? The tournament will be held in channel op DRTL on the iCCup server.
How to watch: L_Master will be casting sometimes, other casters that are interested please indicate your interest and I can add you to the list http://www.twitch.tv/l_master
Format:
The season will consist of two 7 week rounds, culminating in a PO following the conclusion of round 2. The first 3 weeks of round 2 will feature a Bo5 "All Kill" format, the other 11 weeks teams will play a normal bo5 with no ace match. Lineups will be released 48 hours prior to match time, and the selected players will play a bo1 to decide the outcome for that map. First to team to win three maps wins the match.
Rules: If you have an issue during match time please contact sGs.LMaster on iCCup to resolve it.
- No excessive BMing. Manner CCs, Hatcheries and Nexii, as well as pylon hearts, nukes and infested terrans however, are encouraged.
- Winning team sends replays to drits5@yahoo.com following the matches. All 5 replays must be put into one zip/compressed file for download
- Winning team's captain must PM me the result of their match.
- Standard ICCUP rules apply.
- No excessive chatting, e.g. do not be distracting during the middle of the game.
- If players are race pickers they must announce their races within 12 hours of the lineups getting posted.
- Players need to identify which team they are playing with in their profile during match time.
- Players must play using the ID they used to sign up.
- Games must be played on the maps listed in the schedule.
- Games may be postponed between players IF the postponement is scheduled at least 12 hours ahead of the match time and both captain were notified.
- Maps must come from the latest ICCUP mappack.
- If a player disconnects in the first three minutes then a regame will be granted. If the same player disconnects again they will be d/q. Any disconnect after three minutes will be reviewed by sGs.LMaster unless one of the players willingly forfeits.
- Race picking will be allowed, but if you pick to play a certain race on a given day, you must continue playing that race throughout the whole day. You will only be allowed to change your race for the next week. For the purposes of this league, random will not be allowed.

Addendum to Rules
- Lineups are due the Thursday, Aug 22 6:59am GMT (GMT+00:00). If you are confused about this, or don't trust it; that is 59 hours prior to the DRTL match time.
- Replays are due for submission to drits5@yahoo.com following the matches on Saturday, Aug 24 5:59am GMT (GMT+00:00). Again, since days/time may be blurred by time zones, this is 157 hours after the weeks DRTL scheduled match time. Winning team is responsible for sending in replays in the form of a SINGLE zip folder containing all played games.
- PPed games must be played no later than Friday, Aug 23 5:59am GMT (GMT+00:00) following the standard DRTL match time (133 hours after scheduled time). If players cannot find a time to play, the case may be brought before LMaster who will make a final ruling.
Warning Regarding Addendum
There is ZERO tolerance this season on failure to follow these rules. A lineup that is between 1 second and 12 hours late will receive a two set loss. A lineup late than 12 hours after the submission deadline will result in that team forfeiting the match.
The same goes for replays, failure to submit replays in a SINGLE zip folder will result in a 1 set penalty for every 12 hours in which they are not submitted, or incorrectly submitted. More than 24 hours late will result in a forfit of the match.
I repeat again, there is ZERO tolerance. Don't lose matches from a failure to read, and clarify with myself if you have ANY questions concerning this.

Since you're doing this zero tolerance policy on replay and results submissions, (not that I have any problems with it inherently) what does this mean for all the pp's that we always have? Historically, many games get played past the following Tuesday, sometimes even past the following week. Oftentimes, this means no winner is determined until several days after game time. And if you want replays all submitted at once, that sure isn't happening on time with all the pp's that occur. Since no one ever addressed pp rules when it was brought up in the other thread, I'm assuming this means the majority plan to continue the way we've handled pp's in the past. By itself, that would work out one way or another as it always has, but it throws the whole zero tolerance policy out the window.
You're going to need very clear cut but still fair rules on this because otherwise, you either get 1) "zero tolerance" that doesn't really do anything due to a ton of pp's or 2) teams getting screwed due to their members OR THEIR OPPONENTS needing pp's. If it's truly "zero tolerance" this means players can be punished for being manner and pp'ing for the sake of their opponent.

PP's are reasonable up to a point, but pping to where you are way beyond the point of the following weeks matches is over the top, and an organizational nightmare...not to mention it results in situations like last season where hardly anything gets casted.
On second thought though, I might revise the replay deadline to be 3 days later than it currently is, which would allow PP matches several more days to be played, while still enabling reps to be processed, collected, and casted by the next weekend.

Okay 3 days later would make it a lot better but, while I don't disagree, historically, we have had those absurd pp's. Best to address those cases now rather than later. At some point, players are going to complain about some pp drama if you don't establish the rules now. This is exactly why I suggested the rule of "games must be played by x time" or it's a walkover.
Also, this is another reason why I suggested stricter pp rules in the first place: it simply forces things to be more organized instead of allowing 50% of the games to be pp'd to random times. Pretty sure 95% of the players don't care but as the organizer, it probably gives you more than one headache

Makes sense. Good call.
I'll add that games must be played no later than 24 hour prior to replay deadline.

Okay, I'm very confused about the Addendums. The League starts August 24 2013 @ 13:00 EDT (-04:00), according to first post. Then it says replays are due Saturday, Aug 24 1:59am EDT (GMT-04:00)... This has to be a mistake, so I assume you mean the following Saturday, and not 11 hours in the past, right? Additionally, it says PP'd games must be played before Friday, Aug 23 1:59am EDT (GMT-04:00), which is the day before games. I also assume this is a mistake, but just want to check.

Let's go Courage!! You good! Tonight, Ghururururu, Gao hwaiting!

still no where to download 815 III. the TLPD link just leads me to a page with a bunch of text

That happened to me on Firefox too. What I did was I right clicked the DL link and clicked "Save Link As" and saved it on my computer as an .scm. Then it can be opened in Starcraft.

Yea, it's a fault of the TL date function and I don't know how to manipulate it otherwise. But basically it defaults to the soonest of that day. I don't know how (or if) you can make it do given day + 1 week.
It shows one week early for both the games must be played by and replays must be submitted by dates. The lineup date IS correct. The other two will be correct by the time Saturdays matches roll around.
If all else fails, just go by the hours I posted. Those are accurate for everyone.

This was originally what TheMarine and Arca were going to call their team. Fixed now.
Thanks!

I just don't know why Courage looks so awesome....
14-0 yo.

Also, I can't help but mention, are you really planning on just doing the first 3 weeks of Round 2 to just be all-kill and follow it up with Proleague format? If so, that'll be very unfair in terms of keeping things equal.
For example purposes, lets say TAKK has someone like Sziky, who has proven himself in DRATL that he performs all-kill after all-kill. The first 3 weeks of Round 2, TAKK plays DeSPA, Courage, and then SunKhan. All 3 teams lose. However, in proleague format, Sziky can only prove himself so valuable as TAKK's players are all E level players and loses all of their games, going 1-4 in every series remaining.
I dunno, I think if All-Kill format is going to be used, it might as well be for all 7 weeks of Round 2. If not, then keep is proleague for the rest of the way.
